RICHMOND, Va. –
Following an eventful conclusion to the regular season, the CAA unveiled its 2025 women’s soccer postseason awards on Wednesday, as voted on by the league’s 12 head coaches.

The Seahawks’ Hailey Longwell became the first UNCW forward to ever earn CAA Attacking Player of the Year honors. The Moon Township, Pa., native unloaded six of her seven goals in league action. The redshirt sophomore also picked up three assists to pace the conference with 15 points. She rides a seven-match point streak into the Seahawks’ semifinal contest on Nov. 2. Longwell was joined on the league’s first team by teammate Ava Chuderewicz.

UNCW Head Coach Chris Neal and his Seahawks exceeded expectations in 2025, seeing the program’s leader garner CAA Coach of the Year honors. After being selected fourth in the South Division preseason coaches’ poll, Neal guided his team to the top with an 11-3-3 overall record. UNCW’s 7-0-2 mark in conference action was the first unblemished record in a non-shortened season since 2019 to become South Division Champions and earn the top seed on their side of the bracket. Neal picked up his second career CAA Coach of the Year honor after seeing six of his players earn All-CAA recognition.

With Longwell and Neal securing their respective awards, it marked the fourth straight season that a CAA Attacking Player and Coach of the Year came from the same program.

Stony Brook’s Linn Beck picked up her second straight CAA Midfielder of the Year accolade after pacing her position in goals scored during conference play. The Frankfurt, Germany product tallied four of her nine strikes against league opponents. The senior is the first midfielder to repeat as the position’s top player since 2021, when Hofstra’s Lucy Porter took home her third consecutive Midfielder of the Year honor. Beck was joined on the league’s top team by 13-goal striker Reilly Rich and defender Sammy Hannwacker.

Elon’s Grace Gelhaus secured CAA Defender of the Year honors after being a vital part of the Phoenix’s success in conference action, pacing all defenders with four goals and 10 points. The junior registered a goal in four of the final five games, helping Elon to a 4-0-1 record over that span. Furthermore, the Woodstock, Conn., native notched the game-winning strike in three of those four wins. Gelhaus was joined on the All-CAA first team by teammate Gabby Hoschek.

The league’s top shot stopper, Northeastern’s Eliza Teplow, earned the program’s first postseason major award since 2014 with Goalkeeper of the Year honors. The Wellesley, Mass., product led the conference with 7.6 saves per game, producing 68 total stops in nine contests. Teplow also notched three clean sheets in league play this season and produced eight or more saves in six of the team’s nine conference games. The junior keeper was crucial in providing shutouts against North Division foes, Monmouth and Hofstra. Additionally, the Huskies’ Teplow tallied 11 saves in two of the team’s final three games of the season.

Monmouth’s Summer Reimet and Chloe Messer, as well as Towson’s Kale’a Perry, all secured spots on the All-CAA First Team. The Tigers’ leading scorer matched Longwell for the most goals in conference action with six strikes. The Hawks’ duo managed to score three goals apiece in helping Monmouth (10-5-2, 5-3-1 CAA) be crowned North Division Champions and earn the top seed in the division.

William & Mary’s Ellie Leffler left a lasting impact on the conference in her first collegiate season and was honored as CAA Rookie of the Year. The Mohnton, Pa., native paced all freshmen with three goals. While two of her finishes were of the game-tying variety, Leffler’s most recent goal, a 79th-minute strike against Monmouth on Oct. 19, proved to be the most valuable of the regular season as the game-winning goal propelled the Tribe into the postseason with a 1-0 win over the Hawks.

The 2025 CAA Women’s Soccer Championship opens action on Thursday evening. The No. 2 seed in the North Division, Stony Brook (10-6-1, 5-4-0 CAA), will host third-seeded Hofstra (6-4-7, 3-3-3 CAA) in a rematch of Sunday’s regular-season finale. Kick-off is slated for 6 p.m. Fellow second-seeded William & Mary (7-6-4, 5-2-2 CAA) will welcome the South Division’s No. 3 seed, Elon (10-2-5, 4-2-3 CAA), for a 7 p.m. showdown from Williamsburg, Va.
