RICHMOND, Va. (October 7, 2025) – UNCW junior William Carrico earned CAA Men’s Swimmer of the Week honors, while Towson senior Sam Tennell was chosen as the Men’s Diver of the Week. Towson junior Addie Scott received Women’s Swimmer of the Week accolades, and Towson senior Shannon Parrau was selected as the Women’s Diver of the Week.
CAA Men's Swimmer of the Week
William Carrico, Jr., UNCW (Durham, N.H.)
Carrico, the Most Outstanding Swimmer at the 2025 CAA Championship, began the 2025-26 campaign in impressive fashion with a pair of second-place finishes in the breaststroke in the Seahawks’ meet with SEC power Georgia. The junior turned in a time of 55.63 in the 100 breast and finished the 200 breast in a time of 2:02.55. Both times are the best in the CAA this season, while the time in the 200 is the 11
th-fastest among Division I mid-major programs thus far.
CAA Men’s Diver of the Week
Sam Tennell, Sr., Towson (Buford, Ga.)
Tennell got his season off to a strong start, posting a pair of first-place finishes and four second-place efforts in Towson’s first three meets. The senior swept both boards against La Salle, compiling a score of 314.4 in the 1-meter competition and 304.95 in the 3-meter competition. Against Fordham, he placed second on both the 1-meter (308.70) and 3-meter (338.78) boards and was also the runner-up at Seton Hall with scores of 293.17 on the 1-meter and 336.30 on the 3-meter.
CAA Women’s Swimmer of the Week
Addie Scott, Jr., Towson (Nottingham, Pa.)
Scott was dominant in Towson’s first three meets of the season, recording seven first-place individual finishes and winning four relay events. In the opener vs. La Salle, the junior captured the 200 free (1:51.26) and 200 back (2:03.03) and was part of winning 200 free relay and 200 medley relay teams. Against Fordham, she was first in the 100 free (51.92), 100 back (57.04) and 400 free relay. Scott closed the weekend by taking the 100 free, 500 free (5:02.69) and 100 back vs. Seton Hall. Scott currently has the fastest time in the CAA in five individual events.
CAA Women’s Diver of the Week
Shannon Parrau, Sr., Towson (Germantown, Md.)
Parrau recorded first-place finishes in four of her six events over Towson’s first three meets of the season. The senior swept the boards against La Salle with a 1-meter score of 280.8 and a 3-meter score of 279.9. She had second-place efforts of 300.0 on the 1-meter board and 279.9 on the 3-meter board vs. Fordham. Parrau returned to the top of the podium against Seton Hall with a 1-meter score of 296.47 and a 3-meter score of 301.87.
