(Nov. 15, 2025) – For the first time in CAA Men’s Soccer history, Stony Brook and Elon will meet in the conference championship game for a chance at hardware. The two teams will square off on Sunday, November 16, at 2 p.m. at Rudd Field in Elon, N.C. The Phoenix (8-3-6), a staple in the conference tournament, will make its third appearance in the last five years (2021 and 2022). The Seawolves (9-4-5) earned their first championship game appearance and will look to keep the trophy on Long Island after Hofstra won the previous four years. After falling behind in the first half to the Pride in the semifinals, Stony Brook fired two second-half goals in the span of 42 seconds to stun Hofstra 2-1. Ryan Anatol’s program is having a season for the ages, reaching nine wins for the first time since the 2016 season. One of the hottest offenses in the conference, Stony Brook’s 32 goals rank second in the CAA, while the Seawolves are the top assisters with 39 through 18 games. All-CAA First Team forward Finaly Oliver headlines the group with the third most points (20) in the conference. Elon came out victorious in one of the most entertaining games of the season in a 6-4 semifinal win over Campbell. The Phoenix found their scoring form at the right time, netting more than two goals in a game for the first time this season. Midfielder Martin Kozak showed out, claiming six points, including a goal and four assists during the match. Elon’s defense has been one of the nation’s best, with All-CAA First Team goalkeeper Jackson Leavitt at the forefront of it all. The shot stopper sits first in the CAA in goals against average (.647), save percentage (.671), and shutouts (10). The two programs have met just four times in their history, with Elon holding a 3-1 advantage. The last time the two met, the Phoenix grabbed a 2-1 win with current defender Charlie Kitch netting the eventual game winner in the 17th minute. Elon is on a two-game win streak against Stony Brook, with the Seawolves' last triumph coming in a 4-0 win on Sept. 2, 2023. Sunday’s matchup can be found on FloCollege. The winner will earn the CAA’s automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament, with the destination learned on Monday.
