RICHMOND, Va. (November 17, 2025) – CAA Football has announced its weekly award winners for Week 12 of the 2025 season. Monmouth freshman quarterback Frankie Weaver received Offensive Player of the Week honors while Villanova senior linebacker Shane Hartzell was chosen as the Defensive Player of the Week. North Carolina A&T senior kicker Andrew Brown was selected as the Special Teams Player of the Week and Elon freshman quarterback Landen Clark earned Rookie of the Week accolades.

CAA Football Offensive Player of the Week
Frankie Weaver, Fr., QB, Monmouth (New Market, Md./Our Lady of Good Counsel)
 
Weaver completed 19-of-28 passes for a career-high 428 yards and a school-record tying six touchdowns in Monmouth’s 63-19 win at North Carolina A&T. The 428 yards are the 10th-most in FCS this season and the 6 TD’s are tied for the 2nd-most. He completed five throws of 26 or more yards, including TD strikes of 62, 53 and 71 yards, as the Hawks posted the most points and yards (696) in the CAA this season.
 
CAA Football Defensive Player of the Week
Shane Hartzell, Sr., LB, Villanova (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge)
 
Hartzell recorded a team-high 10 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and a half-sack in Villanova’s 30-27 overtime victory against Stony Brook. Eight of his 10 stops were solo as he posted double-digit tackles for the 10th time in his career. Hartzell, who tops VU with 65 tackles and 12.0 TFL’s, led a defense that limited SBU to 76 yards rushing.
 
CAA Football Special Teams Player of the Week
Andrew Brown, Sr., PK, North Carolina A&T (Lexington, N.C./West Davidson)
 
Brown became the first player in CAA history to kick three field goals of 53 or more yards in a game as part of a 4-for-4 effort in North Carolina A&T’s setback to Monmouth. After making a 31-yarder in the first quarter, the senior connected on kicks of 55, 53 and 53 yards. Brown, A&T’s career leader in field goals, is 14-of-17 for the season, including 5-for-5 from 50+ yards.
 
CAA Football Rookie of the Week
Landen Clark, Fr., QB, Elon (Radford, Va./Radford)
 
Clark accounted for 287 yards of offense and four touchdowns as Elon rallied past Campbell, 31-24. The freshman was 13-of-28 passing for 228 yards and 2 TD’s, highlighted by a game-winning 96-yard scoring strike to Isaiah Fuhrmann with 1:07 to go that tied a school record. He also ran for 59 yards and 2 TD’s, including a game-tying 19-yard scoring run with 2:50 remaining.
