RICHMOND, Va. (November 21, 2025) – Hofstra freshman
Freddie Kipkosgei will look to continue his recent run of success when he competes at the 2025 NCAA Men’s Cross Country Championship on Saturday morning.
The 10K race gets underway at 11:10 a.m. from the Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia, Mo. and it will be televised nationally on ESPNU.
Kipkosgei qualified for the event after capturing the individual title at the NCAA Northeast Region Championship on November 14. He completed the 10K course in a time of 29:12.7 to beat his closest competitor by nearly five seconds. Kipkosgei was the first freshman to claim the Northeast Regional title since at least 2002, and he is the first CAA runner to make the national championship since Northeastern’s Benjamin Godish in 2023.
Prior to his performance at the Northeast Regional, Kipkosgei won the individual title at the CAA Men’s Cross Country Championship on October 31. He clocked the second-fastest time in league history, completing the 8K race in 23:01.6. Kipkosgei’s performance helped Hofstra win the team championship for the first time in school history.
