RICHMOND, Va. (Nov. 6, 2025) – Nationally ranked regular-season champion Monmouth was represented in three of four major CAA field hockey awards categories, while Drexel also earned recognition from the league’s head coaches.

Drexel’s Valentine Van Hellemont was named CAA Player of the Year while fellow Dragon Natali Foster split Defensive Player of the Year honors with Monmouth’s Eulalie Brouwers. Monmouth’s Florence van Doorn collected Rookie of the Year accolades, while the program’s leader, Carli Figlio, was named CAA Coach of the Year.

Balloting was conducted at the end of the regular season; coaches were not permitted to vote for their own teams.

Predicted the 2025 CAA Preseason Player of the Year, Van Hellemont goes back-to-back as Player of the Year. Leading the Dragons with seven goals and eight assists, the Belgian midfielder/forward ranked first amongst her teammates in points with 22, and sat third in the conference. Van Hellemont has tallied a point in eight of her last 10 games, including a season-high five against William & Mary, which earned her CAA Offensive Player of the Week honors on November 3.

Brouwers collects her first major CAA award in her third season in West Long Branch. Playing the most minutes out of any field player on her team (878), the junior defender helped anchor the Hawks to an impressive 1.797 goals against average. On the offensive end, Brouwers tacked on seven assists alongside a goal, compiling nine points on the season.

Foster garnered two CAA Defensive Player of the Week honors on route to her first major conference award. Starting all 18 games for the Dragons, the senior was a two-way standout, consistently restricting her opponent’s top performers. Foster played a pivotal role in a defense that allowed a conference-low 23 goals alongside four shutouts. On the attack, the Twin Valley alum was efficient, tallying 14 points with five goals and fourassists.

Van Doorn is one of the most highly decorated rookies this season, being awarded four CAA weekly awards. Closing out the year as back-to-back CAA Defensive Player of the Week, the freshman defender anchored a defense that has secured two shutouts so far. Van Doorn led all freshmen for the Hawks with 17 points on six goals and five assists.

Figlio guided the Hawks to new heights this year with nine straight weeks in the NFHCA poll. Reaching a program-high 11th place, Monmouth outscored its opponents 60-27, posting one of the highest scoring averages in the nation. Monmouth’s 12 wins this season were full of noteworthy moments, including a 4-2 victory over No. 17 Rutgers. Figlio reached 200 career wins with a 7-1 win over Rider at the start of the campaign.

All six programs were represented on an All-CAA team, with Monmouth and Drexel having a conference-high six selections. All-Rookie honors were spread across the conference, with five programs having two players each named from their programs.

Monmouth, Northeastern, Drexel, and Hofstra will duke it out for the CAA Championship starting Friday morning in West Long Branch, N.J.. All three games can be found on FloCollege.
