CAA Announces Rookie Swimmers And Divers Of The Month For October

RICHMOND, Va. (November 5, 2025) – The CAA has announced its CAA Men’s and Women’s Rookie Swimmers and Divers of the Month, honoring top performances from freshmen during competition in October.
CAA MEN’S CO-ROOKIE SWIMMER OF THE MONTH
Izan Arroyo Lopez del Castillo, Monmouth (Cataluna, Spain)
Arroyo Lopez has claimed three individual victories, a second-place effort and has been part of a pair of winning relays in Monmouth’s first two meets. He took first in the 500 free (4:35.88) and second in the 1000 free (9:27.56) against Seton Hall. He followed against TCNJ by capturing the 200 IM (1:52.50) and 200 free (1:40.04). The freshman currently ranks fourth in the CAA in the 1000 free, seventh in the 200 free, seventh in the 200 IM and eighth in the 500 free.
CAA MEN’S CO-ROOKIE SWIMMER OF THE MONTH
Hil Lindsay, UNCW (Charlotte, N.C.)
Lindsay recorded a second-place finishes in the 50 free (20.79) and 100 free (46.03) in UNCW’s meet with Gardner-Webb. He followed with a pair of fourth-place performances in a tri-meet with William & Mary and Queens, clocking a time of 20.62 in the 50 free and 44.94 in the 100 free. He ranks third in the CAA in the 50 and fourth in the 100.
CAA WOMEN’S ROOKIE SWIMMER OF THE MONTH
Alex Tysinger, UNCW (Shelby, N.C.)
Tysinger posted a victory in the 100 free (50.95) and placed second in the 50 free (23.56) in her collegiate debut against Gardner-Webb. She repeated those finishes in a tri-meet with William & Mary and Queens but with faster times, winning the 100 free in 50.73 and taking 2
nd in the 50 free in 23.36. Tysinger has the top time in the CAA in the 100 and is second in the 50.
CAA WOMEN’S ROOKIE DIVER OF THE MONTH
Kailyn Aquino, Northeastern (Haverhill, Mass.)
Aquino reached the podium three times in the opening month of her collegiate career. She finished 3
rd on the 3-meter board (223.20) and the 1-meter board (225.23) in the Huskies’ season-opener against Vermont and followed with a 3
rd-place effort in the 1-meter competition (256.35) and a 4
th-place effort in the 3-meter competition (238.05) at Rhode Island.
