Five CAA Soccer Players Tabbed as Scholar All-Americans

RICHMOND, Va. – Five CAA Soccer players – three men, two women – were named Scholar All-Americans by the United Soccer Coaches on Thursday afternoon. Stony Brook’s dynamic tandem of
Reilly Rich and
Linn Beck picked up the honor on the women’s side. Hofstra’s
Daniel Burko, Monmouth’s
Jakob Friedman and Elon’s
Jackson Leavitt were tabbed to the national academic honor on the men’s side.

Hofstra’s Burko landed on the Scholar All-America First Team and was named to the College Sports Communicators’ (CSC) Academic All-America Second Team after owning a 4.00 GPA as a finance major. Burko turned in a huge offensive year in his first season at Hofstra. He tallied 13 goals and five assists for 31 points, ranking second on the team and in the conference in goals and points. Burko's 31 points also sit 11th in the nation, while his 13 goals are 12th. He also cracked the league’s top team and was named to the United Soccer Coaches’ All-Atlantic Region squad.
The Seawolves’ Rich secured a spot on the Scholar All-America Second Team after boasting a perfect 4.0 GPA as a graduate student working towards her MBA. She also secured CSC Academic All-District honors. was the CAA’s only double-digit goal scorer on the women’s side in 2025 with 15 strikes (17
th in NCAA), including six game-winning goals (7
th in NCAA). Rich received a plethora of awards, including All-ECAC First Team honors, All-CAA First Team recognition and United Soccer Coaches All-East Region distinction. Her 37 total points were also 15
th in the nation.
Monmouth’s Friedman also found himself on the Second Team after carrying a 3.63 GPA as a Business Management major. He scored a career-high four goals this season, including a game-winning strike at La Salle. Friedman ranked among the CAA leaders in assists throughout the regular season after providing a career-high eight helpers. Friedman finished the season ranked second in the CAA for assists and fourth in points per game (1.00).
Leavitt took home Second Team honors after scoring a 3.82 GPA in his undergraduate studies, with degrees in finance and business analytics. The graduate student is currently completing a master's in business analytics. The All-CAA First Team goalkeeper set a program record with 12 shutouts during the fall campaign, tied for the second most in Division I. He finished the year ranked third in NCAA Division I with a .572 goals against average and sixth with an .843 save percentage.
Beck, who earned her second CAA Midfielder of the Year honor after finishing second in scoring with nine goals of her own, picked up her second Scholar All-America honor with her spot on the Third Team. She was also named an All-CAA First Team selection and earned a spot on the United Soccer Coaches’ All-East Region Team. Academically, Beck boasted a 3.94 GPA, earning herself CSC Academic All-District honors.
To be eligible for Scholar All-American status, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.40 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) throughout their career, play a minimum of 75 percent of games during the season of nomination and be an elite player as supported by playing honors (All-American, All-Region, minimum all-conference).
