Down to the wire battles were on full display across the CAA on Friday night.
Drexel 59, William & Mary 58 OT

Drexel (13-9, 9-3) outlasted William & Mary (10-12, 7-4) 59-58 in overtime to win its ninth conference game of the season.
William & Mary led by as much as seven in the second quarter, however, Drexel was persistent in its efforts, drawing the game level in the fourth quarter. Down two with 2:06 on the clock, Deja Evans made a layup for the Dragons, which ended up being the final points in regulation. Evans picked up right where she left off, scoring five consecutive points for the Dragons, pushing Drexel to a 53-52 lead with 2:26 on the clock. Down the stretch, Bella Nascimento had the go-ahead bucket for the Tribe, however, Cassidy Geddes missed two clutch free throws to close out the game. Chloe Hodges came down the other end for Drexel and was fouled as she tried to take the final shot with .5 on the clock and made all three to win. McCormack’s 20 points led Drexel, while Nascimento had a game-high 23 for the Tribe.
Hampton 59, Stony Brook 57

It came down to the final minutes, but Hampton (6-17, 2-10) held on to defeat Stony Brook (11-12, 6-6) 59-57.
Entering the third up 41-37, Hampton was scoreless until Jasha Clinton hit a 3-pointer to extend the lead to six with 2:30 gone in the frame. Arlisha Boston hit another trey ball less than two minutes later contributing to a 10-6 run from the Pirates. Things got close when Sharmla King made a second-chance layup and was fouled to bring the score to 58-57. Clinton came in clutch knocking down the final bucket of the game from the charity stripe to seal the win. Le’Asia Foreman was Hampton’s leading scorer with 13 points while King had a game-high 19 for the Seawolves.
Towson 64, Hofstra 51

Piecing together a 13-2 run midway through the fourth, Towson (7-16, 5-7) overcame Hofstra (9-14, 4-8) 64-51.
Entering the fourth down 43-41, Towson got to work when Khady Leye scored a trey ball 18 seconds into the frame. Despite an immediate response from the Pride, the Tigers went on an 11-0 run with points coming from Deja Bristol (2), India Johnston (6), and Leye (3) to take a commanding 57-48 lead. Towson was lights out from deep, going 3 for 5, and shooting 9 for 18 from the field. Johnston led the Tigers with a game-high 15 points, while Ramatoulaye Keita had a near double-double with nine points and 10 rebounds for Hofstra.
Elon 70, UNCW 56

Elon (13-9, 7-4) came out firing on all cylinders, defeating UNCW (12-13, 6-6) 70-56.
The Phoenix was locked in from the start, holding UNCW to just 11 first-quarter points on 3 of 16 shooting. Elon had 22 points fall on 10 of 15 shooting, with Raven Preston’s nine leading the way. The Phoenix outrebounded the Seahawks 11-8 in the first quarter, and kept this defensive trend up through the remainder of the game, limiting UNCW to a .368 shooting clip from the field, and restricting the Seahawks to 7 of 21 shooting from deep. Preston finished the day with yet another double-double on 16 points and 12 assists, while Taylor Henderson had a team-high 14 points for UNCW.
Delaware 70, Monmouth 61

Delaware (8-14, 5-7) weathered a late wave of Monmouth (12-11, 7-5) offense to win 70-61.
After a strong first 25 minutes from Delaware, Monmouth overcame a 46-36 deficit with a 12-2 run to close out the third quarter. The Blue Hens didn’t let the run affect its offensive flow, as Chloe Wilson scored two quick buckets for Delaware to retake the lead. Monmouth fought to level the game at 57 off the back of a Divine Dibula bucket, but Delaware once again went on a run, outscoring Monmouth 6-0 to ultimately close out the contest. Ande’a Cherisier led the field Delaware with 22 points, while Taisha Exanor’s 22 points and 15 rebounds topped the Hawks.
N.C. A&T 73, Northeastern 55

N.C. A&T (14-9, 10-2) earned its 10th conference victory of the season with a 73-55 win over Northeastern (1-20, 0-12).
The Aggies led in all facets of the game, notching a .585 shooting clip including going 5 for 12 from behind the arc. A&T was most efficient in the paint, outscoring the Huskies 46-14. Chaniya Clark’s game-high 17 points made up 16 of the Aggie's 46 paint points, with the center’s 12 rebounds marking her sixth double-double of the season. A&T outrebounded Northeastern 30-29 and had four blocks compared to the Huskies one. Natalie Larranaga had 22 for the Huskies.
