Losing streaks were snapped and winning streaks were extended during a very eventful afternoon of CAA Hoops.

Northeastern 61, Hofstra 51

Northeastern (2-20, 1-12) came from behind to win its first conference game of the season, 61-51, over Hofstra (9-15, 4-9).
 
Down 33-28 heading into the second half,Northeastern pulled the game level in the third. The Huskies held Hofstra to 0 for 9 from the field through over four minutes of action to go on an 11-1 run. Northeastern outscored the Pride 15-8 in the frame, restricting Hofstra to a .143 shooting clip and allowing only two field goals. Abigail Jegede led with four points in the quarter to contribute to her team-high 20. The win snaps a 16-game losing streak for the Huskies and earns them their first CAA win of the year. Ramatoulaye Keita nearly had a double-double for the Pride with 12 points and nine boards.
 
 
Monmouth 62, Hampton 60

Both teams held the momentum multiple times in the game, however Monmouth (13-11, 8-5) was able to seal a 62-60 win over Hampton (6-18, 2-11).
 
Trailing 25-17 after 10 minutes, Monmouth did a complete 180, outscoring Hampton 22-6 to take a 39-31 lead into the second half. Hampton stormed back scoring seven straight points in the third with buckets from Aisha Dabo, Tyra Kennedy, and Jasha Clinton. When it came down to the wire, Damaris Rodriguez tied the game at 60 with 36 seconds on the clock, before converting the and-one to take the lead. Clinton came down on the other end for the Pirates and missed a layup, leading to Monmouth’s victory. Taisha Exanor had an impressive 18 points and 11 rebounds for Monmouth, while Tyra Kennedy’s 15 points paced Hampton.
 
 
Charleston 64, UNCW 61

Separated by a point with 2:23 remaining, Charleston (17-6, 8-4) scored within the final seconds to defeat UNCW (12-14, 6-7), 64-61.
 
Behind by eight points, heading into the final quarter, Charleston had an offensive explosion, outscoring UNCW 22-11 to come from behind. The Seahawks led by as many as 11 in the fourth, before Taylor Barbot took over. Knocking down two quick free throws to start the 14-2 run, she went on to notch two jumpers in 40 seconds to draw the game close at 61-57. Taryn Barbot knocked down a pair of free throws to pull Charleston ahead 62-61 with 2:24 remaing. Taylor then drained a layup with 13 seconds on the clock to extend the margin. Lara Rohkohl ended as Charleston’s leading performer with 14 points and 19 boards, while Ali Zelaya also posted a double-double for the Seahawks with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
 
 
Campbell 48, Elon 45

Gianni Boone’s strong fourth-quarter showing led Campbell (15-9, 8-4) to a 48-45 win over Elon (13-10, 7-5).
 
Down by two at the start of the fourth, Boone’s performance lifted the Camels to a fifth-straight conference win. Three quick-fire points from Courtney Dahquist put Campbell up by one. Boone’s layup proceeded by a free throw gave the Camels a four-point lead, and they never looked back. Elon came alive in the final minutes of the game off two straight buckets from Jayda Angel, but Boone hit the digger to separate the two teams by six with less than 10 seconds remaining. Boone scored five of her team-high 14 poins in the quarter, while Angel’s 20 paced Elon.
 
 
Delaware 82, William & Mary 59

A 12-point lead to start the second half catapulted Delaware (9-14, 6-7) to a 82-59 victory over William & Mary (10-13, 7-5).
 
The Blue Hens outscored the Tribe 37-25 through the first 20 minutes, off the back of strong showings from Ella Wanzer (9 points)  Ande’a Cherisier (8 points), and Rebecca Demeke (7 points). Delaware was efficient from the field going 15 for 30, and continuing to pace the conference in 3-point shooting percentage with a .364 shooting clip through the first 20 minutes. The Blue Hens locked the Tribe down defensively holding William & Mary to 34.5% from the field and an impressive 10.0%  behind the arc. Cherisier finished the game as the Hens leading scorer with a career-high 24 points, while Bella Nascimento’s 22 points led the Tribe once again.
 
 
Towson 59, Stony Brook 52

Towson (8-16, 6-7) weathered a late Stony Brook (11-13, 6-7) attack to win 59-52.
 
Holding a one-point lead with nine minutes to go, the Tigers pieced together an 11-1 run to close out the game. After a turnover from Zaida Gonzalez, Towson came down the other way with Anasia Staton knocking down a trey ball. After assisting Stanton’s bucket, Khady Leye got hot scoring four of her own. India Johnston closed out the run with a three, extending the Tigers’ lead to 12. Stony Brook scored five straight free throws from Zaida Gonzalez (3) and Breauna Ware (2), but it wasn’t enough as Towson was able to close out the win. Deja Bristol gave Towson 16 points, while Gonzalez had a game-high 17 points for Stony Brook.
