Women’s
Northeastern will look to repeat as CAA Champions, following a 2024 season that saw it capture its first title. The Huskies had five all-conference finishers - including three event winners - on the final day of competition to maintain their lead and end Elon’s streak of four straight CAA track and field titles between indoor and outdoor. Northeastern won with 119.5 points, ahead of the Phoenix with 95 points. The Huskies lead the conference in multiple track events including the 60m with Savannah Blair’s 7:42 being the top mark.
Elon picked up right where it left off last season, continuing to set the pace as one of the top long-distance programs in the conference. Mikayla Jones enters the meet with the second-best 5000m time in the conference while leading the Phoenix with her 9:33:19 performance in the 3000m. Two-time CAA Field Athlete of the Week recipient Jazlyn Jefferson comes into the meet as the top triple jumper in the conference with a 12.25m performance earlier in the season.
Three-time CAA Track Athlete of the Week recipient Lucheyona Weaver of North Carolina A&T looks to make her mark on the championship and defend her conference title in the 60m hurdles. Running at a time of 8.21 last season for her second-straight title, Weaver has already surpassed that mark with a conference-best 8.13 performance at the Corky Classic.
Men’s
Earning the previous two conference titles, Northeastern looks to defend its crown. The Huskies had nine All-CAA performances a year ago, including six event champions, to accumulate 153 points in the team race.
Last season’s Most Outstanding Track Performer at the Championship Ben Godish will look to defend his title in the mile, after previously breaking the record in last year’s championship with a 4:03:80 time. The Huskies were dominant in the weight throw this season, with Nicholas Pisciotta (19.20m) and Tremain Robinson(19.13m) having the top two marks in the conference.
Jason Holmes has been a force for A&T all season and will look to build on the Aggies’ second-place finish in the Championship last season. Running the fifth-fastest time in the NCAA last season and breaking the meet record at 7.65 in the 60m hurdles, Holmes has already surpassed his performance with a 7.56 time at the Corky Classic. Holmes also sits second in the 200m (20.94) and fourth in the 60m (6.81) in the CAA.
Last season’s third-place recipient Monmouth is one of the top-performing field performers in the conference this year. Ahmad Brock (7.45m) holds the conference lead in the long jump just ahead of his teammate David Strong (7.22m). Dalton Yeust also ranks first in the conference with a 5.00m performance in the pole vault.
