CAA Women’s Basketball Weekly Awards – Mar. 10 2025

RICHMOND, Va. (Mar. 10, 2025) – Four players earned weekly-award recognition during the final week of the regular season as Charleston sophomore guard Taryn Barbot, North Carolina A&T senior guard Jordyn Dorsey, Hofstra freshman forward LaNae’ Corbett, and Northeastern freshman center Alyssa Staten all earned recognition for their performances.
CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Taryn Barbot, Charleston
Sophomore | Guard | Floral Park N.Y. / St. Mary
Barbot goes back-to-back-to-back as the CAA Player of the Week, after she averaged 26.0 points alongside 5.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals during a two-game stretch. In a top-four conference battle against Campbell, the Floral Park resident had 21 points alongside six boards in the 75-54 win. Barbot’s hot form continued when she dropped 31, leading the Cougars to a 93-66 win over Hampton. The sophomore guard has scored 20+ points in her last four games, and now has four games of 30 or more this season.
CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jordyn Dorsey, North Carolina A&T
Senior | Guard | Augusta, Ga. / Cross Creek HS
Dorsey lifted N.C. A&T to its first CAA Regular Season title, averaging 25.0 points with 4.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists in the Aggies’ 2-0 weekend. With a share of the title on the line, the senior guard charted a career-high 27 points to post a 77-52 win over William & Mary. Two days later against UNCW, Dorsey had 23 as A&T claimed the outright regular season title. She has also made 22 consecutive free throws, including a perfect 15 for 15 from the line last weekend.

LaNae’ Corbett, Hofstra
Forward | Freshman | Upper Marlboro, MD / Bishop McNamara
Corbett averaged 14.0 points and 3.5 rebounds as the Pride won a pair of home contests to close out the season on a five-game win streak. In Hofstra’s 73-70 overtime win against Stony Brook, the freshman forward scored 12 points on 80% shooting and was a perfect 4 for 4 from the charity stripe as the team erased an eight-point deficit. Corbett led the team with 16 points as Hofstra moved past Northeastern 69-53 just two days later.
CO-ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Alyssa Staten, Northeastern
Freshman | Center | Statesboro, Ga. | Statesboro
Staten averaged a double-double of 13.5 points and 10.5 rebounds to earn her first CAA recognition. In a close 49-43 victory over Elon, the freshman center set her career-high with 15 points alongside eight boards to help Northeastern take its second conference win of the season. Staten closed out the weekend with a 12-point and 13-rebound performance against Hofstra. The Statesboro graduate scored on an impressive .733 clip from the field, while also averaging 2.0 blocks.
