RICHMOND, Va. (March 10, 2025) – Hofstra’s Nikki Mennella earned her third Offensive Player of the Week honor, while her teammate Christine Dannenfelser shared Defensive Player of the Week accolades with Stony Brook’s Avery Hines. Alexis Savage of William & Mary rounded out the CAA Weekly Awards after capturing Rookie of the Week recognition on Monday.

Offensive Player of the Week
Nikki Mennella, Hofstra
Redshirt Sophomore | Attacker | Smithtown, N.Y.
Mennella shined offensively in leading Hofstra to a 1-1 week, including a rout of Wagner and a narrow setback to Rutgers. The redshirt sophomore totaled 15 points on eight goals and seven assists, while also adding nine draw controls and a ground ball. It was a career performance for the Pride’s attacker against the Seahawks as she notched a personal-best career-high six goals to go with four assists. She also added five draw controls in the contest.  Her career-high 10-point effort was the third-most by an NCAA Division I player this season and the most by a CAA player this year. She also became the 22nd member of the 100-point club at Hofstra in the process. Mennella followed up with another strong performance, tallying two goals and three assists while also contributing four draw controls.

Co-Defensive Player of the Week
Christine Dannenfelser, Hofstra
Sophomore | Defender | Bayport, N.Y.
Dannenfelser had a strong week defensively for Hofstra in the Pride's 1-1 week. The sophomore defender totaled nine draw controls, four ground balls, and a caused turnover, while helping anchor a defense that averaged 8.5 goals allowed per game. In a win over Wagner, Dannenfelser tallied three draw controls, two ground balls and a caused turnover. The Pride defense only allowed six goals in the contest. She followed up with six draw controls and a pair of ground balls as the Pride nearly upset nationally-ranked Rutgers.

Co-Defensive Player of the Week
Avery Hines, Stony Brook
Senior | Defender | Mount Airy, Md.
Hines put together an equally strong week in a 1-1 showing for Stony Brook. The senior defender helped pester nationally-ranked Rutgers with her four caused turnovers and a pair of ground balls. She followed up with two more forced miscues and a ground ball in the conference opener against Towson, assisting the Seawolves in surrendering just six goals on the afternoon.

Rookie of the Week
Alexis Savage, William & Mary
Freshman | Midfielder | St. James, N.Y.
Savage racked up four goals in two games last week, scoring on all four of her shot attempts. The New York product registered her first career hat trick in an 18-17 win over High Point, notching the game-winning goal with 4:32 remaining. Savage also registered one goal in the Tribe’s 16-8 win at Longwood.
