Campbell Falls in Second Round of WNIT

Evansville, IN. (Mar. 23, 2025) – Campbell saw its season come to an end with a 60-51 defeat to Southern Indiana in the second round of the WNIT.
Picked eighth in the CAA Coaches Preseason Poll, the Camels (22-13) exceeded expectations, making it to the CAA Championship Game and earning its first WNIT win in program history. Ronny Fisher’s side finished with 20 wins for the first time since the 2021-22 season.
Courtney Dahlquist netted a career-high six trey-balls,scoring a team-best 20 points alongside seven rebounds for Campbell. As a whole, the Camels shot 31.6% from the field and 30.3% from deep.
Southern Indiana got double-digits from both Meredith Raley (20) and Madison Webb (13) while it outscored the Camels 26-14 in the paint, being allowed to shoot on a .333 clip from the field.
Through the first two and a half quarters, neither team could be separated. Both sides were impressive defensively restricting each other to less than 31% shooting from the field and 29% from deep. With eight ties and eight lead changes, Southern Indiana had the largest lead at the tail end of the second half, holding a six-point advantage over Campbell.
Knotted at 32 heading into the first media timeout of the second half, momentum swung in favor of the Screaming Eagles who posted a 6-0 stretch with buckets from Webb (4) and Chloe Gannon (2) to reach their largest advantage of the matchup. Dahlquist ended the Camels’ three-minute scoring drought with a bucket from deep but it was Webb who continued her hot scoring form, posting her sixth third-quarter point with mere seconds on the clock to put Southern Indiana up 40-35 heading into the final 10.
Both teams traded points, however, the Screaming Eagles ran out to their largest lead of the game with an eight-point advantage. Dahlquist’s efforts continued as she netted yet another three to move Fisher’s side to within three before she scored her sixth from deep of the game to move Campbell within two points. Southern Indiana found its rhythm shortly after and within 15 seconds had retaken a six-point lead through Raley and Webb.
Southern Indiana closed out the game as Raley scored her 20th point of the game with a free throw to make it 56-48 with 25 seconds to go. Raley had seven of the Screaming Eagles' last 11 points to earn her side a spot in the WNIT Super 16.
