RICHMOND, Va. (April 10, 2025) – UNCW junior Cameron Snowden was chosen as the 2024-25 CAA Women's Swimmer of the Year, while Northeastern senior Erin Murphy was selected as the CAA Women's Diver of the Year for the third consecutive season in a vote by the league's head coaches.

Joining Snowden and Murphy as major award winners in women's swimming and diving were UNCW freshman Maeren McGonigal as Rookie Swimmer of the Year and Delaware freshman Peyton Sherrill and Northeastern freshman Madeleine Wong as Co-Rookie Divers of the Year. William & Mary's Nate Kellogg was honored as the CAA Women's Swimming Coach of the Year and Northeastern’s Lauren Colby received Women’s Diving Coach of the Year accolades for the third straight season.

Snowden is only the second UNCW swimmer to earn CAA Women’s Swimmer of the Year honors and the first since 2000. At the CAA Championship, the junior captured the 100 fly in a CAA meet and all-time record time of 51.78 seconds. She claimed gold in the 50 free (22.26) and took second in the 100 free (49.78). Snowden was also a member of UNCW’s first-place 400 medley relay team that set a CAA all-time record (3:35.16) and was runner-up in the 200 free and 400 free relays. Snowden received an invitation to the NCAA Championship where she set a new CAA all-time mark (51.57) in the 100 fly with a 19th-place finish that was the best-ever for a UNCW swimmer at the NCAA’s.

Murphy was selected as the Diver of the Year for the third year in a row after sweeping both boards at the CAA Championship. The senior earned gold in the 1-meter competition with a score of 294.30 and was the conference champion on the 3-meter board with a score of 297.85. Those performances earned her Outstanding Diver of the Meet accolades for the second time. Murphy competed at the NCAA Zones, where she placed 22nd on the 1-meter board and 31st on the 3-meter board.

McGonigal was honored as the Outstanding Swimmer of the Meet at the CAA Championship after winning three individual events. The freshman claimed the conference title in the 200 IM with a time of 1:58.98, the 100 back with a time of 53.62 seconds and the 200 back with a time of 1:55.97. She earned a fourth gold as a member of UNCW’s 400 medley relay team that set a CAA all-time record (3:35.16) and was part of second-place teams in the 200 and 400 medley relays.

Sherrill finished 9th overall on the 1-meter board at the CAA Championship with a score of 246.35, and placed 10th in the 3-meter competition with a score of 249.95. Sherrill is Delaware’s third Rookie Diver of the Year in the past five seasons.
