Four Programs Garner Men’s CAA Indoor Track and Field Major Awards 4/3/2025 2:00:00 PM Ben Kane RICHMOND, Va. (April 3, 2025) – Four programs garnered men’s CAA Indoor Track and Field major awards, as North Carolina A&T, Monmouth, William & Mary, and Northeastern had members of their programs recognized. Monmouth senior David Strong was named Field Athlete of the Year, North Carolina A&T junior Jason Holmes and Northeastern senior Ben Godish were each named Co-Track Athletes of the Year, William & Mary redshirt freshman Hayes Trapp was named Rookie of the Year, and North Carolina A&T’s Allen Johnson was named Coach of the Year. Strong garnered CAA Indoor Championship Most Outstanding Field Athlete honors after posting the conference meet record in the heptathlon with a score of 5229. Earlier in the season, the senior notched a program record of 5323 in the event at the 2025 Quaker Invitational. Godish earned three gold medals on the way to being named the CAA Indoor Track and Field Championship Most Outstanding Track Athlete for the second-straight year. The senior set championship-meet records with his winning performances in the 3000m (8:09.96) and the 5000m (13:57.24) and also placed first in the mile run (4:04.80). Godish set program records in the 3000m and 5000m earlier in the season. Holmes earned Second-Team All-American honors for his performance in the 60m hurdles this season. The Baltimore resident won the event at the CAA Championship (7.78) and had the eighth fastest time in the nation for the event with a 7.56 second performance earlier this season. Holmes won five of his six appearances in the event during the 2024-25 indoor campaign. He also placed second in the 60 meters and 200 meters at the CAA Championship. Trapp medaled in two events at the CAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, including a silver medal in the 5000m (13:59.62) which was the fourth-fastest time in program history and ranked 29th in the Southeast region. The South Carolina resident also earned a bronze medal in the 3000m, posting a time of 8;15.55. Johnson led A&T to its first CAA title in program history. With his team trailing by 39 points after the first day of competition at the CAA Indoor Championship, Johnson guided his program to eight event wins en route to victory and earned himself another All-American selection through Holmes.
