Charleston, Elon and Campbell’s Bjelke Ready for 2025 NCAA Men’s Golf Regionals

RICHMOND, Va. (May 11, 2025) – Charleston, Elon and Campbell’s Henric Bjelke will open action at their respective 2025 NCAA Men’s Golf Regionals on Sunday and Monday.
CAA Individual Medalist Bjelke opens action at 3:46 p.m. this afternoon in the Amherst (Va.) Regional after the projected weather forecast moved the opening round up to Sunday. Looking to build on his impressive title run, the senior is one of 10 individuals playing on the par-70, 7,212-yard course at Poplar Grove Golf Club. Honored as the Most Outstanding Golfer at the CAA Championship, Bjelke tied the course record with a 65 in the opening round and finished with a winning score of 6-under (210) for the tournament.
Two CAA teams – Elon and Charleston – are competing in the NCAA Men’s Golf Championship for the first time since 2021.
The Phoenix will hit the links at the Gold Mountain Golf Club on Monday as the No. 11 seed in the Bremerton (Wash.) Regional. Elon earned an automatic bid after capturing its first CAA title in dramatic fashion, edging Drexel in a playoff. Ranked No. 68 nationally, Elon will turn to senior Garrett Risner and sophomore Jack Wieler to make a run at the national title. Arizona State is the top seed in Bremerton and is joined by Florida, Utah, South Carolina, South Florida, Colorado, Charlotte, Kansas, Colorado State, Kansas State, Coastal Carolina, Oral Roberts and Seattle University.
Charleston will also open its postseason slate on Monday in the Auburn Regional as the No. 10 seed, taking on the Auburn University Club Golf Course. The Cougars will be making their fourth appearance in the NCAA Regionals in the past five years. Charleston, which is ranked No. 62 nationally, is led by seniors Kieron van Wyk and Nevill Ruiter. Host Auburn is the top seed in the Regional and is joined by Texas A&M, UCLA, SMU, Georgia Tech, Oregon, Purdue, Arkansas-Little Rock, TCU, New Mexico State, Loyola (Md.) and USC Upstate.
The top five teams in each of six regionals will advance to the NCAA Championship, along with the top individual not on one of those advancing teams.
