GREENSBORO, N.C. (May 13, 2025) – The 2025 CAA Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships head to Greensboro, N.C. on Wednesday, May 14, and Thursday, May 15. The Championships will take place at Truist Stadium on the Marcus T. Johnson Track on the campus of North Carolina A&T.

Competition kicks off Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. with the start of the decathlon, followed by the first event of the heptathlon 15 minutes later. The field event finals begin with the men’s javelin (10 a.m.) and ends with the men’s hammer throw (4:30 p.m.) A few finals fill out the afternoon with the men’s steeplechase (5:30 p.m.) and women’s steeplechase (5:50 p.m.) before a break separates the men’s 10,000m final (7:20 p.m.) and women’s 10,000m final (8 p.m.), which closes out the night.

Thursday is action-packed with field events commencing at 10 a.m. and running until the women’s discus at 2:30 p.m. Interwoven between the field events are the running finals, starting with the men’s 4x100m relay at 12:30 p.m. and concluding with the women’s 4x400m relay at 4:45 p.m. Simultaneously, the decathlon wraps up at 3:40 p.m. with the 1500m while the heptathlon finishes a little earlier at 1:45 p.m. with the 800m.

Winning both the men’s and women’s team titles last season, Northeastern looks to go back-to-back as CAA Champions this season. For the men, a win would give the program its 10th-straight conference title dating back to 2015 (2020 Championship cancelled due to COVID-19 Pandemic), while a win for the women would go back-to-back for the first time in program history. Both Husky squads placed third in the 2025 CAA Indoor Championship.

Women’s

Defending champion Northeastern features sophomore sprinter Savannah Blair, who has the top times in the 100 and 200 meters, and Nicole Dunbury, who tops the performance list in the 1500 meters.

Crowned CAA Champions for three of the last four outdoor seasons, Elon will look to reach the conference mountain top once again. Madison Synowiec (33:51.52) qualified with the best 10,000m time in the CAA and is joined by two of her teammates, Hannah Weber and Mariana Martinez, in the top-four. The indoor triple jump champion Jazlyn Jefferson also has her hopes set on claiming the event through both 2025 seasons.

After winning the first CAA title in Hampton history during the indoor season, the Pirates will look to build upon their third-place finish in last season’s outdoor championship. Peninah Mutsiya, who won two distance races indoors, is the favorite in the 5,000 meters outdoors. Jordan Mozie qualified for her event with the top mark in the conference running 2:04.41 in the 800m dash, while Damali Williams’ 53.25m toss in the discus throw also earned top mark in the CAA this outdoor season.

North Carolina A&T returns Fajr Kelly, the defending champ in the 800m, and Lucheyona Weaver, the defending champ in the 100 meter hurdles. Juliet Nwosu is a strong contender in the shot put and discus, and the Aggies’ Olivia Dowd (triple jump) and Spirit Morgan (high jump) are favorites in their events.

Men’s

Looking to continue its winning streak, Northeastern will look to Reed Cherry in the 800 meters and Nicholas Pisciotta in the hammer throw to lead the way.

Having place fourth last outdoor season, A&T will look to build on its title-winning indoor campaign on its home turf. Indoor Second Team All-American Jason Holmes returns as the frontrunner for the 110m hurdles, having set the conference record in the event last year. Heading into the championship, the runner ranks No. 1 in the conference and 13th in the nation. Brayden Hodgest also looks to reclaim the CAA thrown in the discus throw while also qualifying for the shot put with a conference-topping and top-100 in the nation mark of 18.01m.

Monmouth finished third in last year’s championship and returned a majority of its core performers. Jan Volkmar looks to retain his Decathlon title, having set the CAA outdoor championship record with a 6,945 tally last season. Fellow Hawk David Strong qualified with the top tally in the conference heading into the championship, notching 6879 points earlier in the season. Declan McDonnell locks it down for Monmouth in the distance events, with his 14:13.04 time being first in the CAA in the 5,000 meters heading down to North Carolina.
