CAA Announces 2025-26 Men’s Basketball Conference Schedule
Dylan Smith
RICHMOND, Va. – The CAA announced the 2025-26 Men’s Basketball conference schedule on Tuesday.
The league campaign opens with a six-game slate on Monday, Dec. 29, before settling into a Thursday and Saturday schedule for the majority of conference play. Defending CAA champion UNCW will start league competition on the road against North Carolina A&T. New Campbell Head Coach
John Andrzejek will get his first taste of conference action when his Camels head to Long Island to face Hofstra on opening night.
CAA matchups will be available on FloCollege, CBS Sports Network and local television partners throughout the league’s footprint. In addition, the semifinals and final of the 2026 Jersey Mike’s CAA Men’s Basketball Championship at the CareFirst Arena in Washington, D.C., will be televised on CBS Sports Network.
Reigning CAA Player of the Year
Tyler Tejada and regular season champion Towson will start league play on the road inside Kaplan Arena at William & Mary on opening night before a New Year’s Eve affair at Hampton.
Entering his 20
th season with Northeastern, Head Coach
Bill Coen has produced 197 conference wins (regular season and tournament) and is looking to become the first CAA coach to reach the 200-win threshold. The league’s longest-tenured coach and his Huskies will open conference play with three straight road contests in North Carolina, facing Elon, N.C. A&T and Campbell.
Hampton and North Carolina A&T will head to Los Angeles for a star-studded clash, squaring off in the 2026 NBA HBCU Classic, part of NBA All-Star 2026. The Pirates edged the Aggies with a 74-73 victory in the last meeting between these two storied programs on Jan. 20.
Southern rivals Charleston and UNCW will square off in a pair of Saturday contests, with their first meeting slated for Feb. 7 inside TD Arena. The two programs will clash again three weeks later on Feb. 28 at Trask Coliseum. The Cougars and Seahawks battled through three stellar contests last season, including a thrilling one-point CAA Semifinal matchup on CBS Sports Network.
Additional regional rivalries that earn home-and-home meetings on the calendar include Stony Brook-Hofstra (Jan. 15 in Stony Brook, Feb. 28 in Hempstead); Monmouth-Drexel (Jan. 15 in Philadelphia, Feb. 12 in West Long Branch); William & Mary-Hampton (Feb. 7 in Hampton, March 3 in Williamsburg); and Elon-N.C. A&T (Jan. 8 in Greensboro, Feb. 21 in Elon).
