Towson senior kicker Caden Williams received Special Teams Player of the Week honors and Towson freshman quarterback Andrew Indorf earned Rookie of the Week accolades.

CAA Football Offensive Player of the Week
Gavin Nelson, Jr., WR, Monmouth (Reisterstown, Md./Franklin)

Nelson set career highs with five receptions for 176 yards and three touchdowns as Monmouth completed the largest comeback in program history with a 42-39 triumph at Colgate. With the Hawks trailing 31-7 midway through the third quarter, Nelson caught TD passes of 70, 24 and 51 yards to put Monmouth up 35-31 with 12:24 to go. The three receiving TD’s were the most by any FCS player in Week 1 and the 176 yards were the second-most in FCS.

CAA Football Defensive Player of the Week
Joshua Iseah, Jr., LB, North Carolina A&T (Charlotte, N.C./Independence)

Iseah recorded a team-high 10 tackles, a career-high 3.0 tackles for loss and an interception in North Carolina A&T’s narrow 24-21 loss at Tennessee State. Iseah’s diving pickoff in the second quarter led to a touchdown that put the Aggies ahead, and his 3.0 TFL’s were the 4th-most by any FCS player in Week 1. Iseah led an A&T defense that held TSU to -5 yards rushing in the first half and 252 total yards in the game.

CAA Football Special Teams Player of the Week
Caden Williams, Sr., PK, Towson (Allen, Texas/Allen)

After serving as Towson’s kickoff specialist for the past two seasons, Williams went 2-for-2 on field goals and 3-for-3 on extra points in the Tigers’ 27-7 win at Norfolk State. The senior booted a 24-yard field goal in the first quarter before hitting a 50-yarder in the second. It was the first 50-yard FG for a Towson kicker since 2018 and matched the third-longest in FCS in Week 1.

CAA Football Rookie of the Week
Andrew Indorf, Fr., QB, Towson (Miami, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas)

Indorf completed 14-of-26 passes for 187 yards and three touchdowns in Towson’s 27-7 road victory at Norfolk State. The true freshman threw a 33-yard scoring strike on the Tigers’ first drive of the game and then delivered TD passes of 36 and 15 yards in the fourth quarter after NSU had closed to within six points. Indorf was the first freshman quarterback to start a game for Towson since 2009.
