Gwenn van Dijk earned CAA field hockey weekly award winners for the week ending on September 7
th.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Claire Campen, Monmouth
Forward | Sophomore | Hawley, Pa. / Honesdale
Campen had a career weekend helping Monmouth remain unbeaten to open the 2025 campaign. In a 5-2 win over Temple, the sophomore netted one before firing a career-best two goals past Rider in a 7-1 win. Campen is one of two Hawks to score in all four games this season.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Tessa Scheenstra, Towson
Senior | Goalie | Voorburg, Netherlands / Gymnasium Novum
Scheenstra played every minute of Towson’s 2-0 weekend, helping the Tigers earn a 5-1 win against Lock Haven and secure a 3-1 triumph over Sacred Heart. Through both games, the Dutch goalie faced 22 shots on goal and saved 20 of them, including 13 stops against Sacred Heart. The senior’s save tally against the Pioneers was the most by a CAA goalie this season.
CO-ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Fleur Hamers, Drexel
Freshman | Forward/Midfield | Enschede, Netherlands / Het Stedlijk Kottenpark
Hamers netted the Dragons’ lone goal in a 1-0 victory over ACC opponent Louisville. Scoring in the 40
th minute, the freshman recorded the first of her career, while also leading the team with a team-high six shots across Drexel’s two games this weekend.
CO-ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Gwenn van Dijk, Hofstra
Freshman | Midfield | Almere, Netherlands / Helen Parkhurst Almere
Van Dijk tallied three points in Hofstra’s 2-0 weekend against a pair of Northeast opponents. After assisting the Pride’s opening goal in a 3-2 shootout win over Rider, the freshman midfielder went on to score the game-winner in a double-overtime 2-1 victory against Bryant.
