RICHMOND, Va. (January 18, 2026) – An offensive explosion from Charleston and defensive clinics from Stony Brook and Monmouth headlined a showstopping day of CAA action.
Monmouth 72, Campbell 31

Monmouth got it done on both ends of the floor to defeat Campbell 72-31. Gigi Gamble was at the forefront of it all, posting her second 30-point performance of the season with an impressive 6-of-8 display from distance. On the defensive end, the Hawks were superb, restricting Campbell to no scores from distance and 25% shooting from the field. After allowing 10 points in the first quarter, Monmouth went on a 22-6 run in the second, including holding Campbell scoreless for the final five minutes. The 31 points allowed were the fewest Monmouth has given up against a Division I opponent this season. Gianni Boone was the leader for Campbell, scoring eight points.
Stony Brook 55, Towson 44

Stony Brook matched its best defensive performance in CAA play this season with a 55-44 win over Towson. Allowing just four points through the first 10 minutes, the Seawolves exploded for 22 to distance themselves from the Tigers. With 2:54 on the clock, Diaka Berete headed to the line and sank two free throws, kick starting a 9-3 run to close out the half with a 10-point advantage. The Seawolves relied heavily on their defense in the second half, restricting Laura Harper’s team to 25.0% shooting from the field and a 0-for-12 performance from behind the arc. Sandra Frau-Garcia put up a double double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. India Johnston had eight for Towson.
Charleston 87, Elon 64

A first-half offensive explosion powered Charleston to a 87-64 win over Elon. The Cougars posted 53 in the first half, including 32 in the second quarter. Leading by four points a minute and a half into the second quarter, Charleston got hot. Taryn Barbot jump-started the run with a trey, before Anilys Rolon put up five-straight points to make it a 15-point advantage. Elon cut into the deficit, but a 12-6 run to close out the half gave the Cougars enough padding to seal the victory. Barbot was the leader for Charleston posting 20 points, while Laila Anderson had 21 for the Phoenix.
Drexel 76, UNCW 67

Powered by a 24-point performance from Amaris Baker, Drexel defeated UNCW 76-67. Baker made an immediate impact, scoring two straight buckets in the opening four minutes to establish a seven-point Dragon lead. UNCW kept within arm's distance of the Dragons, pulling as close as seven points, but Baker instantly responded. After Rori Cox drilled a 3-pointer to make it 56-49 with 9:18 left in the fourth quarter, the Preseason All-CAA selection drove to the cup and sank a layup. The Seahawks remained persistent, but five points in the final minute from Baker ultimately sealed the win. Cox’s 21 points led UNCW.
Northeastern 62, Hofstra 60

Tied at 50 with under three minutes to play, Northeastern was clutch from the free throw line to defeat Hofstra 62-60. Trailing by three, Kailee Beaudion-Foliaki drained a 3-pointer with 2:35 left to give Northeastern a 53-50 lead. Alarice Gooden responded 21 seconds later with a layup, but Morgan Matthews went 2-for-2 from the line to re-extend the Huskies’ lead. After a clinical trip to the line, Matthews made a huge defensive stop, blocking Chloe Sterling’s layup attempt. Justice Tramble was consequently fouled went 5-for-5 in the final minute to close out the game. Tramble led Northeastern with 13 points, including going 7-of-8 from the charity stripe. Sterling had a game-high 20 points.
N.C. A&T 70, Hampton 57

N.C. A&T sprinted out to an early lead that it would never relinquish to defeat Hampton 70-57. The Aggies dominated defensively, not allowing Hampton to make a field goal for the first nine minutes. Chaniya Clark opened the scoring, dropping five points before Paris Locke and D’Mya Tucker scored two points each. After two free throws from Kayla Lezama to open Hampton’s account, A&T went on a 4-0 run through five minutes to extend the lead to 11. Restricting Hampton to 7.7% shooting from the field in the first quarter, Tarrell Robinson’s team remained resilient on defense to earn its second conference win of the year. Clark posted a team-high 20 points and was matched up with Hampton’s Kiarra Mcelrath.
