RICHMOND, Va. (January 20, 2026) – Drexel senior Sebastian Smith was chosen as the CAA Men’s Swimmer of the Week, while Northeastern senior Anna Verlander received Women’s Swimmer of the Week accolades. Towson senior Sam Tennell was named the Men’s Diver of the Week and Tigers’ senior Shannon Parrau was selected as the Women’s Diver of the Week.
 
CAA Men’s Swimmer of the Week
Sebastian Smith, Sr., Drexel (Wappingers, N.Y.)
Smith recorded three individual victories and was part of a record-setting relay team in Drexel’s meet with Penn. The senior finished first in the 50 free (20.28), the 100 free (44.41) and the 100 fly (48.28) against the Quakers. He was also part of the Dragons’ winning 4x50 free relay team that set a new pool record with a time of 1:21.96.

CAA Women’s Swimmer of the Week
Anna Verlander, Sr., Northeastern (Atlanta, Ga.)
Verlander picked up a pair of individual wins and added a first-place relay finish for Northeastern at the Tate Ramsden Invitational. The senior claimed the 100 back in a time of 56.00 and took the 200 back in a time of 2:02.19. Both times are among the 12 fastest in the conference. Verlander was also part of NU’s winning 400 free relay team.

CAA Men’s Diver of the Week
Sam Tennell, Sr., Towson (Buford, Ga.)
Tennell posted a first-place finish and two second-place efforts in Towson’s meets with George Washington and Howard last week. Against GW, the senior took the top spot on the 1-meter board with a score of 314.48 and finished second on the 3-meter board with a score of 322.95. He added a runner-up effort in the 1-meter competition versus Howard with a score of 293.10.

CAA Women’s Diver of the Week
Shannon Parrau, Sr., Towson (Germantown, Md.)
Parrau earned two individual wins and added a third-place finish in Towson’s competitions against Howard and George Washington. On the 1-meter board, the senior placed first versus Howard (268.80) and third versus GW (260.70). She claimed the 3-meter event against GW with a score of 298.35.
