CAA PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Christian Reeves, Charleston

Reeves led the Cougars to wins over Campbell and Elon last week, averaging a double-double with 25.0 ppg and 13.5 rpg. The Cougars’ big man went nearly perfect from the floor with an 87.0% shooting clip from the field (20-23 FG). He also logged 10 of his 27 rebounds on the offensive glass. Reeves opened the week with 21 points on a career-high nine made field goals to go with nine rebounds in a thrilling 87-83 win over the Camels. The Charlotte, N.C., native followed up with new career highs after rattling off 29 points on 11-of-12 shooting inside the arc, along with 18 rebounds in an 80-70 victory over the Phoenix. His 18 boards were the seventh-most in a single game in school history. Reeves also became the first CAA player to log at least 29 points and 18 rebounds against an NCAA Division I opponent since Towson’s Jerrelle Benimon went off for 30 points and 18 boards against Temple on Dec. 12, 2012.
 
CAA ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Lewis Walker, N.C. A&T

Walker led the Aggies to two of their biggest wins over Hofstra and Towson since joining the CAA. Across the team's two victories, Walker posted 28.5 points per game, shooting 16-for-27 (.593) from the field, 7-for-10 (.700) from 3-point range and 18-for-19 (.947) from the free-throw line. He also chipped in 7.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. After a Monday night setback to Hampton, Walker flipped the switch with 24 points on 7-for-12 shooting, seven rebounds and two assists across 40 minutes of work to help the Aggies secure a 79-78 win over Hofstra on Thursday night. Walker helped the Aggies rally from a 16-point first-half deficit. Walker followed up by matching a season-high 33 points on 9-of-15 shooting to go with seven rebounds and four assists. He was also 5-for-7 from 3-point range and 10-for-11 from the charity stripe in the Aggies' 80-73 win over the Tigers, snapping their four-game winning streak. Walker tied A&T's single-game freshman scoring record, which he set nine days earlier at William & Mary.
 
THIS IS THE CAA
N.C. A&T’s Lewis Walker matched a season-high with 33 points to help the Aggies secure an 80-73 victory over Towson. The freshman guard went 9-of-15 from the floor with five 3-pointers, while sinking 10 of his 11 attempts from the free-throw line. Walker also pulled down seven boards and dished out four assists in A&T’s second straight win. For the fourth time in five games, Zamoku Weluche-Ume produced a double-double, registering 11 points and 15 boards.
 
A stellar team shooting performance from behind the arc lifted William & Mary to an 89-82 victory over Hofstra. The Tribe sank 18 3-pointers in the win, marking the most by a CAA team this season. Kilian Brockhoff unloaded eight triples in the win, part of a game-high 28 points to go with four boards and three assists. Reese Miller sank four 3-pointers en route to a 17-point showing. Chase Lowe pulled down a team-best 11 rebounds in the win, joining three others with eight points on the evening. The Tribe is the only team in the CAA to remain unbeaten at home (9-0) following Saturday’s action.
 
Monmouth secured an 88-73 road win over Campbell, marking the Camels’ first setback at home this season. Justin Ray led the charge with five of his nine makes coming from distance en route to a 24-point, six-rebound performance. Jason Rivera-Torres racked up 19 points, 12 rebounds and six assists in the victory. Jack Collins notched 17 points, nine helpers and six boards in a full 40 minutes of work. Cornelius Robinson Jr. and Dok Muordar chipped in 11 points apiece. The Hawks scored 48 of their 88 points in the paint.
 
UNCW snapped Hampton’s 11-game home winning streak with a 75-67 victory. Greedy Williams led all scorers with a 19-point, seven-assist performance, going 5-for-10 from the floor and 9-of-11 from the free-throw line. Patrick Wessler notched 16 points and eight rebounds in the win. Nolan Hodge posted 13 points and six boards, while Noah Ross rounded out those in double figures with 12 points. The Seahawks shot 53.1% from the floor (26-49 FG) and outscored Hampton, 32-22, in the paint.
 
A 29-point, 18-rebound effort from Christian Reeves propelled Charleston to an 80-70 victory over Elon. The Cougars’ big man went 11-for-12 shooting from the floor and pulled down six offensive boards. Reeves became the first CAA player to produce at least 29 points and 18 rebounds against a Division I program since Towson’s Jerrelle Benimon on logged 30 points and 18 boards against Temple on Dec. 12, 2012. Colby Duggan posted 17 points, five assists and three rebounds in the win.
 
Drexel staved off a late surge to secure an 83-78 win over Northeastern. Josh Reed notched 22 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the floor with six free throws off the bench. Shane Blakeney saw two of his four makes come from distance, turning in 14 points, four boards, four assists and three swats. Kevon Vanderhorst and Garfield Turner rounded out those in double figures with 12 points each. The Dragons saw 43 points come from their reserves in their fourth win in the last five games.
 
CLEAR PATH TO ACTION
UNCW will visit Towson for a 9 p.m. showdown on CBS Sports Network. Pat McCarthy and Noah Buono will be on the call for the battle between the league’s preseason favorite and runner-up from Maryland. The Tigers have emerged victorious in five of their last six meetings and 10 of their last 12 showdowns with the Seahawks, including a 65-61 overtime win in their last showdown on Jan. 2, 2025. UNCW will look to secure its first win inside SECU Arena since Jan. 22, 2022, securing an 81-77 overtime win.
 
A battle between two of the CAA’s top teams will commence on Long Island as Hofstra welcomes Charleston for a 7 p.m. tilt on FloCollege. The two teams have been evenly matched since the Cougars joined the conference, seeing CofC hold a slight 11-10 advantage in the series and a three-game winning streak. The Pride will look to secure its first home win against Charleston since an 89-84 win on Feb. 28, 2022.
 
Drexel will play host to Hampton in a 7 p.m. tilt on FloCollege. The Dragons have won three of their four meetings with the Pirates, including a 53-52 triumph in a defensive battle on Feb. 27, 2025. Hampton picked up its lone victory in the series two weeks earlier with a 63-58 home win on Feb. 13.
 
N.C. A&T will look to build on its recent success when it heads to Monmouth for a 7 p.m. showdown on FloCollege. The Hawks are 5-0 in the all-time series, including 3-0 at home. The Aggies enter Thursday’s contest having won back-to-back games against Hofstra and Towson.
 
Stony Brook will head south to face Campbell in a 7 p.m. contest on FloCollege. The Camels have secured wins in both of their meetings with the Seawolves, including a 95-77 victory in Buies Creek on Feb. 10, 2024. The Seawolves are fresh off three straight wins over Hofstra, Charleston and Northeastern.
 
The league’s top two scoring teams, William & Mary (83.6 ppg) and Elon (83.2 ppg), will settle the score inside Schar Center at 7 p.m. on FloCollege. The Tribe has emerged victorious in five of their last six meetings with the Phoenix. Elon will look to pick up its first win since knocking off W&M, 76-71, on Feb. 29, 2024.
 
CAMPBELL CAMELS (9-12; 3-5 CAA)
  • DJ Smith ranks second in scoring with 23.3 ppg in conference play. He is also top five in the league with an 86.2% efficiency at the charity stripe (4th) and 3.3 triples made per game (2nd).
  • Campbell is one of two programs with a pair of players ranking inside the top 10 in scoring through the conference slate. Jeremiah Johnson joins Smith in the top 10 in scoring through eight conference games, logging 17.0 ppg.
 
CHARLESTON COUGARS (13-8; 6-2 CAA)
  • Christian Reeves has posted 20.3 ppg and 11.3 rpg over the last three games. The Cougars’ big man has also shot an efficient 77.4% from the floor (24-31 FG) over that span. Jlynn Counter has produced a steady all-around game with 17.7 ppg, 7.0 apg, 5.0 rpg and 2.0 spg.
  • Following Thursday’s game against Hofstra, the Cougars will head to Northeastern on Saturday. CofC has won seven straight games against the Huskies.
 
DREXEL DRAGONS (10-11; 4-4 CAA)
  • Drexel has won four of its last five games, outscoring the opposition by double digits (+10.2 ppg). The Dragons have held the opponents to a 24.3% shooting clip from distance.
  • The Dragons have been steady defensively, holding the opposition under 60 points on seven occasions this season, good for the CAA’s top spot. In conference play alone, Drexel paces the league allowing just 61.3 points per contest.
     
ELON PHOENIX (12-9; 4-4 CAA)
  • Chandler Cuthrell ranks second in the conference and 14th in NCAA Division I with 21.0 ppg. The Phoenix’s top scorer has logged double-digit scoring efforts in 19 of 20 outings this season, including 20-point efforts on 15 occasions.
  • Bryson Cokley has provided a steady output for the Phoenix over the last five games with 14.8 ppg and a 59.1% shooting clip from distance (13-22 3FG).
     
HAMPTON PIRATES (10-11; 4-4 CAA)
  • The Pirates sit second in points allowed in conference play, surrendering 66.1 ppg through eight league contests.
  • Following Thursday’s contest against Drexel, Hampton will head to Towson on Saturday. The Pirates have won two of their three last meetings with the Tigers, including a 63-62 victory on Jan. 3. Jalyke Gaines-Wyatt registered 15 points, while Daniel Johnson and Elijah Kennedy chipped in 14 points apiece.
 
HOFSTRA PRIDE (13-8; 4-4 CAA)
  • Hofstra is one of two programs with two players inside the top 10 in scoring through eight conference games, as Cruz Davis is averaging 23.2 ppg (T-2nd in CAA) and Preston Edmead has notched 17.9 ppg (T-7th). The tandem is also top five in 3-pointers, watching Edmead sink 3.3 treys and Davis drain 2.6 triples per contest.
  • Following Thursday’s tilt with Charleston, the Pride will cross state lines to face Monmouth on Saturday. The two teams have evenly split their last 18 meetings, with Hofstra earning wins in three of its last four showdowns.
 
MONMOUTH HAWKS (10-11; 4-4 CAA)
  • Justin Ray has come on strong over the last three games, averaging 18.0 ppg and sinking 4.3 treys per contest. Jack Collins has distributed the ball at a high clip, averaging 8.7 apg over that span.
  • Andrew Ball was perfect from the floor against Hampton, logging 19 points on 7-of-7 shooting with five 3-pointers. He became the second CAA player this season to post a perfect shooting performance with at least five makes from distance, joining Campbell’s DJ Smith on Dec. 23, 2025.
 
N.C. A&T AGGIES (9-10; 2-6 CAA)
  • The Aggies’ Lewis Walker leads all CAA freshmen with 18.8 ppg (5th in CAA overall). Walker has logged double-digit scoring performances in 16 of his 18 appearances this season. His 33-point efforts against W&M and Towson were the most by a CAA freshman in a league game since James Madison’s Matt Lewis posted 33 points against Charleston on Feb. 15, 2018.
  • N.C. A&T’s Zamoku Weluche-Ume has registered 14.2 points and 9.0 rebounds per contest. He also has five double-doubles in league action, including four in the last five games.
 
UNCW SEAHAWKS (18-3; 7-1 CAA)
  • UNCW never goes down without a fight, producing five wins after trailing by double digits: Stony Brook (24), Campbell (13), SE Louisiana (12), at Valpo (12) and at N.C. A&T (11). The Seahawks also erased a seven-point deficit with 84 seconds to play in their 70-69 win against Marshall.
  • Patrick Wessler paces the conference with 9.8 rpg and a 65.4% shooting clip from the floor through eight league contests.
 
NORTHEASTERN HUSKIES (6-14; 2-7 CAA)
  • William Kermoury has emerged as one of the league’s top 3-point shooters with a 43.4% shooting clip from distance, good for 19th in the nation. Since the start of conference play, Kermoury is sixth in scoring with 18.1 ppg and has knocked down 48.1% of his shots from distance (37-77 3FG), averaging 4.1 triples per game.
  • Head Coach Bill Coen will look to become the league’s first head men’s basketball coach to secure 200 conference wins when his Huskies take on Charleston on Saturday.
 
STONY BROOK SEAWOLVES (12-9; 4-4 CAA)
  • Erik Pratt leads five players in double figures during the Seawolves’ three-game winning streak, averaging 29.3 ppg on 52.7% shooting (29-55 FG). Andrej Shoshkikj has chipped in 17.7 ppg on 70.0%% shooting inside the arc (7-10 FG) and 52.4% from distance (11-21 3FG).
  • Stony Brook has also gotten valuable minutes from Ethan Simmon (15.5 ppg), Richard Goods (14.0 ppg) and Rob Brown III (10.3 ppg) during the win streak, all scoring in double figures and helping the Seawolves average 94.3 ppg as a team.
 
TOWSON TIGERS (12-10; 4-5 CAA)
  • The Tigers have won four of their last five games, outrebounding their opposition by 7.8 boards per game. Furthermore, Towson has logged 37.4% of their boards on the offensive glass (74 total off. rebs).
  • Towson is one of the nation’s best offensive rebounding teams, pulling down 14.8 per contest (6th in NCAA). Caleb Embeya is 14th in the country in offensive rebounding efficiency, according to KenPom, pulling down 16.8% of his chances.
 
WILLIAM & MARY TRIBE (14-6; 5-3 CAA)
  • The Tribe is 9-0 at home this season, outscoring the opposition by 19.4 ppg. W&M is shooting at a 51.4% clip from the floor as a team. Four players are averaging at least 11.0 ppg inside Kaplan Arena, led by Kilian Brockhoff with 14.6 ppg.
  • William & Mary flirted with a spot in the CAA record book after sinking 18 3-pointers against Hofstra, sitting one shy of cracking the league’s top 10 for most treys in a game. Kilian Brockhoff unloaded eight trifectas of his own, also one shy of breaking into the CAA’s top 10 for most triples in a single contest.
