RICHMOND, Va. -- A pair of CAA freshmen received national recognition, as William & Mary's Aidan Gatchell and UNCW's Cameron Keay each earned honorable mention on TopDrawerSoccer.com's National Team of the Week, as announced by the organization on Tuesday.

Gatchell recorded a career-high five points on two goals and one assist in William & Mary's 4-0 win over Howard, scoring the eventual game-winner in the 18th minute before adding his second goal in the 70th minute. The freshman earned CAA Rookie of the Week honors following the performance, marking the first weekly conference award of his collegiate career. Gatchell ranks second in the CAA with 16 points and is tied for fifth with five goals. His five goals are the most by a William & Mary freshman in a single season since Alexander Levengood scored seven in 2019.

Keay recorded eight points on three goals and two assists as UNCW went 2-0 on the week. The freshman tallied a goal and an assist against Winthrop, setting up Lucas Siikala before scoring the game-winner in the 57th minute of a 3-2 victory. A two-time CAA Rookie of the Week, Keay has recorded a point in six of his last eight matches. He has helped lead the Seahawks to an undefeated start in CAA play, as UNCW has received votes in the national top 25 for four consecutive weeks. Keay leads UNCW with 15 points, six goals and three assists, helping the Seahawks post a 9-2-1 record this season.
