Ava Magnuson have split CAA Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honors after both registered a brace, while Towson’s
Teagan Gardner earned second straight Defensive Player of the Week honor on Monday. Magnuson also captured her first Rookie of the Week recognition, making her the first freshman to earn Offensive Player and Rookie of the Week accolades in the same week since 2018.
CO-OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Maggie Wadsworth, Charleston
Graduate Student | Forward | Flowery Branch, Ga.
Wadsworth helped lead Charleston to a 4-1 victory over Hampton, giving the Cougars their first CAA win of the season. Flowery Branch, Ga., native scored her first goal as a Cougar in the seventh minute, heading home a free-kick service from Bella Antonio. The graduate forward found the back of the net again six minutes later to record her first career brace. Wadsworth finished the match with five total shots, four of which were on target.
CO-OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Ava Magnuson, William & Mary

Magnuson became the first freshman to secure Offensive and Rookie of the Week honors for the first time since Sept. 3, 2018, when UNCW’s Morgan Nanni secured both honors. The Tribe’s top scorer registered her first career brace in the team’s 2-1 CAA victory over Campbell on Friday night. Magnuson opened the scoring in the 24th minute before finding the back of the net again less than seven minutes later to give the Tribe a 2-0 advantage. She finished with a game-high three shots on goal, scoring on two of her three attempts on frame. Magnuson has scored three goals over W&M's last two matches and four over the last four, moving into a tie for the team lead with four goals this season. The victory was the Tribe's second straight and its first over Campbell since 1998.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Teagan Gardner, Towson
Redshirt Junior | Goalkeeper | Leesburg, Va.
Gardner was the only goalkeeper to record a shutout victory in conference play last week as Towson earned a 4-0 win over Stony Brook. The redshirt junior faced 14 shots in total, making five stops on the Seawolves. The Tigers’ keeper also made three of her five saves in the first half.
