PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (Nov. 6, 2026) –
Junior Camille Perlov scored two goals in a 1:15 span of the fourth quarter to lift top-seeded Fairfield (12-7) to a 2-1 victory over No. 2 Monmouth (11-7) in the CAA Field Hockey Championship game on Friday afternoon at Buckley Field.

Fairfield claimed its first-ever CAA Field Hockey Championship in its inaugural season as an associate member. It was the Stags’ third straight conference championship, having won back-to-back Northeast Conference titles in 2024 and 2025.

The teams were tied 0-0 through three quarters in a defensive battle before the game opened up in the final stanza. In the 51st minute, Kylie Corcoran fired a shot from outside the circle that was deflected into the cage by Perlov, putting Fairfield on top. Just 75 seconds later, the Stags’ Courtland Schumacher sent a pass in front of the goal to Perlov, who finished to push the Fairfield advantage to 2-0.

Monmouth quickly responded to cut into the deficit, as Florence van Doorn capitalized on a penalty corner at the 52:38 mark, finishing an assist from Anna Moors to bring the Hawks within one at 2-1. However, the Stags held off Monmouth's late push to secure the victory.

Defenses controlled play in the first half. Monmouth’s Milla Frye put an attempt on goal at the 1:07 mark, but Fairfield goalkeeper Georgia McDade came up with the first of her seven saves on the afternoon.
Fairfield looked to break the deadlock early in the second quarter as Rylee LaLoup fired a shot at the 18:41 mark that sailed wide of the goal. The Stags continued to pressure the Monmouth defense, earning back-to-back penalty corners before Corcoran sent another attempt off target at 22:15.

Monmouth generated an opportunity of its own later in the quarter, as Claire Campen put a shot on goal at the 24:25 mark, but McDade made the save to keep the contest scoreless.

Both teams came out with increased pressure in the third quarter, as Monmouth earned two penalty corners and put three shots on goal, but McDade came up with key saves yet again to keep the Hawks off the scoreboard. Fairfield responded with pressure of its own, earning two penalty corners and putting three shots toward goal, but Monmouth's defense held firm as the teams remained scoreless through three periods.

Fairfield’s Corcoran was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player and was joined on the all-tournament team by teammates LaLoup. Perlov and Alice Pifferi. Monmouth was represented by Campen, Maia McCourt and Alicia Vanderlyde. Drexel’s Halle Geiger and Fleur Hamers and Northeastern’s Jessica Garden and Juana Gonzalez-Peyru rounded out the all-tournament team.

With the victory, Fairfield earned the CAA's automatic bid to the NCAA Field Hockey Championship and will learn its postseason destination during Sunday's selection show at 10 p.m. ET.
