CAA Announces Rookie Swimmers And Divers Of The Month For January/February

RICHMOND, Va. (February 10, 2026) – The CAA has announced its CAA Men’s and Women’s Rookie Swimmers of the Month, honoring top performances from freshmen during competition in January and February.
CAA MEN’S CO-ROOKIE SWIMMER OF THE MONTH
Izan Arroyo Lopez del Castillo, Monmouth (Cataluna, Spain)
Lopez del Castillo continued his strong freshman campaign with two school records and five wins across three meets. Against La Salle, he set a new program mark in the 1000 free with a time of 9:15.80 and broke a record in the 400 IM that had stood since 2018 with a time of 3:57.56. His effort in the 1000 was the 3
rd-fastest in the CAA and the 400 IM time ranked sixth. He also turned in a time of 4:30.48 in the 500 free against Drexel that ranks seventh in the conference.
CAA MEN’S CO-ROOKIE SWIMMER OF THE MONTH
Roko Krpina, Drexel (Zagreb, Croatia)
Krpina set a school record in the 1000 free against Monmouth with a time of 9:16.82 that ranks fourth in the conference. He also picked up two victories in the 500 free versus Towson and Penn, with his time of 4:27.45 against the Tigers ranking third in the CAA. He also finished third in the 200 fly against Penn.
CAA WOMEN’S CO-ROOKIE SWIMMER OF THE MONTH
Alex Fuller, Northeastern (Charlottesville, Va.)
Fuller posted a pair of victories at the Tate Ramsden Invitational, clocking a time of 50.74 in the 100 free and 54.97 in the 100 fly. Both times rank in the top 10 in the CAA this season. Last weekend at the Boston Winter Open, she captured the 100 back with a time of 55.30, that ranks seventh in the conference.
CAA WOMEN’S CO-ROOKIE SWIMMER OF THE MONTH
Alex Tysinger, UNCW (Shelby, N.C.)
Tysinger posted several strong efforts against ACC competition. In a tri-meet against North Carolina and Boston College, the freshman finished third in both the 50 free with a time of 23.16 and the 100 free with a time of 50.18. She added a third-place effort in the 100 free at NC State with a time of 50.82. Tysinger ranks third in the CAA in the 50 and 100 free.
CAA MEN’S ROOKIE DIVER OF THE MONTH
Simon Huth, Drexel (Cincinnati, Ohio)
Huth turned in a fourth-place finish on both boards in Drexel’s two January meets. Against Towson, the freshman scored 261.98 in the 3-meter competition and 238.50 in the 1-meter competition. Against Penn, Huth compiled a score of 262.65 on the 1-meter board and 251.33 on the 3-meter board.
CAA WOMEN’S ROOKIE DIVER OF THE MONTH
Lada Volkov, Drexel (Buffalo Grove, Ill.)
Volkov performed well in both of Drexel’s meets in January. The freshman set NCAA qualifying marks against Penn, scoring 256.73 on the 1-meter board and 282.90 on the 3-meter board. Against CAA foe Towson, she was third in the 1-meter competition with a score of 256.73 and third in the 3-meter competition with a score of 249.23.
