Elon Earns First CAA Women's Indoor Track & Field Title Since 2023

FINAL RESULTS
BOSTON, Mass. (Feb. 22, 2026) – Elon used strong performances in the distance races to capture its first CAA Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championship since 2023 on Sunday at the TRACK at New Balance in Boston.
The Phoenix compiled 135 points to battle past defending champion Hampton, which placed second with 121.5 points. North Carolina A&T finished third with 93 points and Towson was right behind with 92 points. Northeastern (88 points) was fifth, followed by William & Mary (43), Monmouth (31.5), Stony Brook (31), Charleston (29), UNCW (24), Campbell (6) and Hofstra (5).
Leeann Redlo of Towson garnered Most Outstanding Field Performer honors at the Championship after compiling a team-high 30 points, which included a gold medal in the pentathlon and a silver in the long jump.
Hampton’s Brianna Charles was named the Most Outstanding Track Performer after leading her program with 21.50 points. Charles’ day was highlighted by wins in the 60m dash and 200m dash.
Mile
Elon claimed four of the six top spots to dominate the event. The Phoenix’s Abigail Beville paced her teammates with a 4:46.96 finish. Elon’s Julia Bell followed in her footsteps, closing the race at 4:47.38 while Stony Brook’s Shaylen Goslar (4:48.14) took the final podium spot.
60m Hurdles
Jayda Lewis took home gold for North Carolina A&T with an impressive 8.43 finish to the race. Two other programs found the podium with Northeastern’s Jaice Dorsey taking second (8.48) and Towson’s Redlo earning third (8.63).
400m
Three teams shared the podium with North Carolina A&T’s Serenity Brazell crossing the line in a winning time of 54.79. Nyla Felton of Hampton was close behind her with a time of 55.14 and Towson’s Spencer Settle got the bronze (55.25).
60m
Hampton’s Brianna Charles stole the show with a 7.38 finish, earning the Pirates their first win in the event in CAA history. Northeastern’s Savannah Blair reached the second spot on the podium with a time of 7.41 seconds while North Carolina A&T’s Makenna Urbanek finished just behind her with a 7.42 time for third.
800m
Towson’s Barra Stewart (2:07.27) finished more than a second faster than the field to take home the gold medal. Elon’s Jenna Gilman (2:08.35) and Northeastern’s Lola Satre Morales (2:08.85) rounded out the top three.
200m
Charles claimed her second gold medal of the afternoon, finishing in 23.47 seconds for the Pirates. North Carolina A&T’s Meara Rasul earned second with a time of 23:88, while Northeastern’s Savannah Blair was right behind her at 23:89 for third place.
3000m
Stony Brook’s Grace Weigele (9;24.1) produced a dominant showing in the 3000m, taking the top spot by almost nine seconds. Katie Blount’s 9:33.02 effort for Elon was good for second, while William & Mary’s Celia Dawosn rounded out the podium with a 9:40.94 finish.
High Jump
North Carolina A&T’s Spirit Morgan shattered her own CAA Championship meet record on the way to a second-consecutive victory in the high jump. Morgan’s 1.86m leap eclipsed the 1.78m mark she set last indoor season. Towson’s Redlo cleared the bar at 1.78m to claim second, while Hampton’s Emmani Shaw and Monmouth’s Imke van der Spoel shared third place with 1.70m.
Pole Vault
William & Mary’s Elizabeth Strobach set a new conference meet record in winning the pole vault by clearing the bar at 4.05m. Second place went to Charleston’s Elaine Zhai (3.95m) and Northeastern’s Katie Rodriguez was third (3.95m).
Shot Put
Hampton’s Rochele Solmon won the event with an impressive 15.10m toss. Leila Curtis’ 15.02m showing for Northeastern earned her second, while North Carolina A&T’s Taylor Reagor had a 14.62m performance for third.
Triple Jump
Olivia Dowd of North Carolina A&T tied the CAA meet record with a leap of 12.51m to earn gold. Hampton’s Danielle James took second with a jump of 12.26m and third place went to Towson’s Kiara Murray (12.12m).
4x800m Relay
Hampton reset a two-year conference championship meet record to take home gold. The quartet of Shari Brown, Avah Savage, Mekayla Wilson and Kylee King finished in an impressive time of 8:55.5. Northeastern (8:59.28) and Elon (9:01.19) rounded out the podium.
4x400m Relay
Towson’s grouping of Qiora Rollins, Mydison Britton, Baara Stewart, and Spencer Settle won the event with a 3:42.23 performance. North Carolina A&T wasn’t far behind with a 3:45.44 pace while Hampton narrowly edged Elon for third with a 3:49.29 finish.
Long Jump
Hampton’s Danielle James took home gold in the long jump with a leap of 6.06m. Northeastern’s Camryn Cole was close behind in second with a jump of 6.04m while Towson’s Redlo claimed third with a 5.92m effort.
Weight Throw
Elon and William & Mary took the top four spots, with the Phoenix garnering gold and silver. Adriana Clarke threw the farthest with a 20.04m toss, while her teammate, Isabella Johnson (19.44m), came in second. W&M’s Amelia Bawcombe reached the podium with a third-place 18.63m toss.
5000m
Monmouth took two of the three podium spots in the 5,000 meters. The Hawks’ Payton Campbell (16:53.93) led the pack and narrowly edged Elon’s Katie Blount (16:53.97) to earn the gold medal. Monmouth’s Kristen Sarnicola had a 16:58.08 pace that earned her third place.
Distance Medley Relay
Charleston won its first event of the afternoon after narrowly besting the field. The Cougars’ team of Abigail Mogg, Emma Townsend, Kiley DeFusco and Katie O’Toole took gold with a time of 11:43.29. The Cougars edged Stony Brook (11:43.57) by less than three tenths of a second and Elon’s 11:48.06 pace garnered third place.
Pentathlon
For the first time in her career, Towson’s Redlo claimed the top spot with 3,831 points. Last season’s champion, Elon’s Lizzie Lopez, collected 3,666 points throughout the event for second spot, and Northeastern’s Jaice Dorsey was third with 3,579 points.
