CAA Swimming & Diving Championship Gets Underway On Wednesday

RICHMOND, Va. (February 24, 2026) - The CAA Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships head back to the Hampton Aquaplex in Hampton, Va., for the fourth year in a row. The facility has produced plenty of fast times, with numerous records set over the past several years.
The four-day event takes place from Wednesday, February 25 through Saturday, February 28, as eight women’s teams and five men’s squads battle for conference titles.
All-session tickets will be on sale at the door for $110 for adults and $50 for children (ages 2-12). Individual sessions are $18 for adults and $8 for children. Please note that cash will NOT be accepted for any onsite ticket or merchandise sales, so we ask that you plan accordingly.

Women’s Championship
UNCW edged William & Mary to capture its third straight CAA title last year. Returning for the Seahawks is senior Cameron Snowden, who is the two-time defending champion and CAA all-time record holder in the 100 fly and the reigning champ in the 50 free. Maeren McGonigal was chosen as the 2025 Outstanding Swimmer of the Meet after sweeping the 100 and 200 back as well as the 200 IM. Gil Shaw has the second-fastest times in the league in the 100 and 200 breast.
William & Mary has placed in the top two in nine of the past 10 years, which includes titles in 2016, 2017 and 2022. The Tribe returns four swimmers who claimed gold medals last season – Flynn Truskett (100 free), Tess Lankford (200 free), Sophia Heilen (200 breast) and Claire Neilly (400 IM). William & Mary also finished first in three of the five relays.
Northeastern has finished in the top four for the past three years and has topped the 1,000-point mark in the past two. Top returnees for the Huskies include Anna Verlander (100, 200 back), Mary Nordmann (100, 200 fly) and May Bradburn (100, 200 free) along with talented freshman Alex Fuller.
Towson features the conference’s top-ranked diver in senior Shannon Parrau, who placed second on both boards in the 2025 championship. Addie Scott holds the league’s top time in the 200 free and should also contend in the 500 free.
Drexel is led by sophomore Brittany Corbett, who is the defending CAA champion in the 500 free and 1650 free. Megan Ehrnfeldt has top 10 times in the 100 free, 100 fly and 100 back, while Harper Barrowman could challenge in the 200 and 500 free.
Men’s Championship
UNCW is looking to capture its fifth consecutive men’s championship. Back to lead the Seahawks is junior William Carrico, who was named the 2025 Outstanding Swimmer of the Meet after winning the 200 breast and 500 free and setting a new conference record in claiming the 400 IM. Jack VanHowe is the defending champ in 100 back and three-time CAA Diver of the Year Ethan Badrian returns after sweeping both boards a year ago.
Drexel is coming off a third-place finish in 2025 in which it won three relays and set conference records in two of them. Returning for the Dragons is Sebastian Smith, who holds the CAA’s top time in the 100 fly and the second-best times in the 50 and 100 free. Matas Cinga has the top performance in the 200 free and Theo Andreopoulos should contend in several events.
Towson has a number of performers who will battle for medals. Sean Colson is the defending champ in the 200 back and owns the top time in the 100 back. Jed Garner has the league’s top efforts in the 100 and 200 breast, Stephen McDonald has the fastest time in the 500 free and Christian Davidson has the top time in the 1650 free. Sam Tennell is expected to challenge for gold on both boards.
William & Mary features junior Aiden Bond, who has recorded the CAA’s fastest times this season in the 50 free and 100 free and owns the second-best mark in the 200 free. Monmouth freshman Izan Arroyo Lopez del Castillo has had an excellent rookie campaign and should battle for the podium in the 1650 free and 400 IM.
