CAA Swimming & Diving Weekly Awards - Feb. 3

RICHMOND, Va. (February 3, 2026) – Monmouth freshman Izan Arroyo Lopez del Castillo and UNCW junior William Carrico shared CAA Men’s Swimmer of the Week honors, while UNCW senior Cameron Snowden was selected as the CAA Women’s Swimmer of the Week. Towson senior Sam Tennell was named the Men’s Diver of the Week and Towson senior Shannon Parrou was chosen as the Women’s Diver of the Week.
 
CAA Men’s Co-Swimmer of the Week
Izan Arroyo Lopez del Castillo, Fr., Monmouth (Cataluna, Spain)
Arroyo Lopez del Castillo broke a pair of school records in winning performances against La Salle. The freshman claimed the 1000 free in a time of 9:15.80, which is the 3rd-fastest in the CAA this season and broke a MU mark set in 2023. His winning time of 3:57.56 in the 400 IM bested a MU record set in 2018 and was the 6th-fastest in the CAA this year. Arroyo Lopez del Castillo added a second-place effort in the 100 free and a second-place finish in the 200 medley relay.

CAA Men’s Co-Swimmer of the Week
William Carrico, Jr., UNCW (Durham, N.H.)
Carrico placed third in a competitive 400 IM event against nationally ranked NC State. The junior touched the wall in 3:48.83, which was less than two seconds off his CAA-best time in the event and nearly five seconds faster than any other performance in the league. He was also part of UNCW’s 200 medley relay team that posted a season-best time of 1:26.53.

CAA Women’s Swimmer of the Week
Cameron Snowden, Sr., UNCW (Santa Clarita, Calif.)
Snowden turned in several strong performances in UNCW’s meet against nationally ranked NC State. The senior finished second in the 50 free with a time of 22.71, which was just .07 off her league-best effort this season. She took second in the 100 fly with an NCAA-qualifying time of 52.34. Snowden was also part of UNCW’s 200 medley relay team that set a program record with a time of 1:38.85.

CAA Men’s Diver of the Week
Sam Tennell, Sr., Towson (Buford, Ga.)
Tennell earned his third straight Diver of the Week honor after a tremendous performance in sweeping both boards against UMBC. The senior scored 332.33 points to capture the 3-meter competition and tallied a winning score of 321.68 to take the top spot on the 1-meter board.

CAA Women’s Diver of the Week
Shannon Parrau, Sr., Towson (Germantown, Md.)
Parrau recorded sweeps on both boards once again in Towson’s meet with UMBC. The senior finished first on the 3-meter board with a score of 303.38 and won the 1-meter competition with a score of 281.63.
