CAA Women’s Basketball Recap – Feb. 6

RICHMOND, Va. (Feb. 6, 2026) – For the first time in almost two weeks, women’s basketball was in full swing with 12 of the 13 programs hitting the court for in-conference battles.
 
Drexel 75, Hampton 42

Drexel dominated the first half, leading to a 75-42 victory over Hampton. Despite outscoring the Pirates 20-11 in the second quarter, the real talking point was the first. The Dragons put on an 18-0 run through the first ten minutes, restricting Tamisha Augustin’s team to 0-for-20 shooting. Deja Evans opened the scoring 41 seconds into the game, before Amaris Baker scored seven straight as part of a game-high 24 points. Drexel held Hampton scoreless for the first 12 and a half minutes of the game, and closed out the matchup restricting the Pirates to 18-of-74 shooting from the floor and just three makes from deep. The contest marked the fourth time Drexel has held its opponents to 45 or fewer points during CAA play this season. Kiarra McElrath had seven for Hampton.
 
 
Monmouth 59, Hofstra 54

Monmouth fired in a 10-0 late in the fourth quarter to overtake Hofstra and earn a 59-54 victory. The Hawks trailed 46-40 coming out of the final media timeout, but that all changed with a Madalena Amaro 3-pointer. That bucket turned into a Gigi Gamble pull-up jumper, which led to five straight points from Divine Dibula to overcome the deficit and retake the lead. With 2:54 remaining on the clock, Micaela Carter pulled up and drilled a jumper to pull the Pride within two points, but Alexis Andrews’ layup a minute later ultimately put the game out of reach for Hofstra. Gamble led Monmouth with 16 points, while Chloe Sterling had a game-high 20 points for the Pride.
 
 
Stony Brook 64, Northeastern 55

Stony Brook took control in the first half and held on to defeat Northeastern 64-55. Through the first 20 minutes, the Seawolves had outscored the Huskies 36-17. Camryn Collins opened the game’s scoring when she gave Northeastern its only lead of the game 46 seconds in. After that, momentum immediately swung in favor of Stony Brook, who posted a 13-2 run. Diaka Berete scored six of her 10 points in the game during the five-minute stretch, knocking down two 3-pointers. Despite being outscored 26-11 in the third quarter, Stony Brook retook control in the fourth to close out the game. Sandra Frau-Garcia had a well-rounded stat line for the Seawolves with 12 points, eight rebounds, and five assists. Yirsy Queliz tied the game-high with 13 points for Northeastern.
 
 
Charleston 81, UNCW 61

Charleston pulled ahead in the second and third quarters to defeat UNCW 81-61. The Seahawks had the Cougars’ number early on, outscoring them 18-14 in the first quarter. Kylah Silver carried UNCW’s hot form into the second quarter, sinking a layup 30 seconds in to make it 20-14. After fruitless possessions for both teams, Tyja Beans knocked down a trey for the Cougars to cut into the deficit. For every bucket from UNCW, Charleston responded with two of its own before piecing together a 10-2 run to close out the quarter with a 37-30 advantage. The halftime stoppage didn’t slow Robin Harmony’s team down, which outscored its opponents 22-17 in the third frame, extending the advantage to 12 and leading to Charleston’s 12th win of the season. Yet again, Grace Ezebilo was a force, posting 15 points and 19 rebounds. Mary Ferrito led the game with 23 points for UNCW.
 
 
William & Mary 52, Towson 51

Knotted at 49 coming out of the final media timeout, William & Mary edged Towson 52-51. Trailing 46-42 at the top of the quarter, Alexa Mikeska got the Tribe within one thanks to her 3-pointer. After Monet Dance leveled the game at 47, Geddes sank a hook shot to give her team the lead. Kayla Morris came down the other end of the court, drilling a jumper to re-tie the contest at 49. Kyah Smith ultimately had the final say for the Tribe, getting a second-chance 3-pointer to fall with 3:03 on the clock. India Johnston would score two points in the final stages of the game, but Towson was unable to overturn the deficit after the Tribe held it to one make through the final 4:30 minutes. Smith’s 14 points paved the way for the Tribe. Masyn Marchbanks had nine for Towson.
 
 
N.C. A&T 66, Elon 61

N.C. A&T overcame a five-point fourth quarter deficit to defeat Elon 66-61. Laila Anderson and Tamia Watkins each had free throws fall at the top of the fourth quarter to give the Phoenix a 51-46 advantage. Momentum shifted when Darionna Howard saw her jumper with 8:18 left in the game. Anaya Karriem and Jamyia Lindsey contributed as the Aggies went on a 10-0 run within two and a half minutes to flip the scoreline. When the game shifted to free throws, Paris Locke was clutch, going 6-for-6 from the line to keep the Phoenix at a distance. Locke got 10 of her 14 points from the charity stripe alongside a game-high 11 rebounds and four assists. Anderson tied the game-high with 14 of her own.
