CAA Women’s Basketball Recap – Feb. 8

RICHMOND, Va. (Feb. 8, 2026) – Monmouth and Drexel’s double-overtime thriller headlined a thrilling afternoon of women’s CAA basketball.
Monmouth 62, Drexel 60 (2OT)

Divine Dibula was clutch in in double overtime, earning Monmouth a 62-60 victory against Drexel. Both teams battled in regulation, causing the two programs to be deadlocked at 43 entering the final two and a half minutes. Kathy Kersaint was clinical, knocking down three free throws to give the Hawks a 46-43 advantage with 12 seconds to play. Then, Laine McGurk took over. After a missed trey from Julia Roig Garcia, Grace O’Neil grabbed the offensive board and dished it out to McGurk, who banked in the 3-pointer and sent the game to overtime. Tied at 56 through the first five minutes, the game was ultimately decided at the tail end of the second-additional frame. Dibula was active on the boards, grabbing Kersaint’s missed 3-ball, and sinking a layup with four seconds to go. Amaris Baker ran the distance of the court but was unable to get a clean look, meaning Monmouth came out on top. Dibula finished the day with 24 points and 15 rebounds. McGurk led the Dragons with 25 points of her own and six boards.
Elon 75, William & Mary 62

Elon maintained a double-digit lead established in the first quarter to defeat William & Mary 75-62. Elon never trailed once thanks to a 7-0 run to start the game. After two buckets from LaNae’ Corbett, Laila Anderson drilled a 3-pointer as part of a dominant first quarter. Carrying a 22-10 advantage through the first 10 minutes, the Phoenix held the Tribe to under 10 points with a 16-9 stretch to end the half. Charlotte Smith’s team held strong defensively, restricting William & Mary to 8-of-32 shooting from the floor and 18.2% from distance in the first half. Tamia Watkins had a 16-point and 10-rebound double-double for the Phoenix.
Towson 63, Northeastern 55
Box Score
Trailing in the second quarter, Towson rallied behind a 16-5 run to edge Northeastern 63-55. Towson was hot early, producing a 6-0 run to start the game. However, the Huskies answered right back with a 9-0 run of their own. Knotted at 15 midways through the second quarter, the Tigers’ run started. Five straight free throws kick-started the stretch before Tilda Sjokvist sank a layup to pull Towson ahead by seven. Viki Matulevicius closed out the half with the last seven points for Towson to give her team a 29-20 advantage through the first 20. Northeastern was unable to regain its advantage, earning Laura Harper’s squad the victory. Matulevicius had a team-high 14 points while Northeastern’s Yirsy Queliz paced the game with 16.
Hofstra 75, Hampton 59

Chloe Sterling did it all as Hofstra bested Hampton 75-59. The senior guard had 15 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists to earn Hofstra its second conference win of the season and snap an eight-game skid. Carrying a 42-25 lead into halftime, Hampton fired back in the third quarter to pull within 10 entering the final 10 minutes. Both teams traded buckets to open the fourth before Hofstra pulled away. With 7:26 on the clock, Emma Von Essen pulled up for a 3-pointer to push the Pride ahead 13. Micaela Carter carried the momentum, scoring five-straight points to put the game out of reach for Hampton. Kayla Lezama’s 17 points were a team-high for Hampton.
Campbell 54, N.C. A&T 46

A 25-point second quarter propelled Campbell to a 54-46 win over N.C. A&T. Deadlocked at 12 through the first 10 minutes, the Camels came alive. Holding the Aggies scoreless through the first two and a half minutes, Campbell produced an 8-0 run thanks to four different scorers. Darionna Howards’ two free throws pulled A&T back to a 25-17 deficit, but momentum stayed with Ronny Fisher’s team. Gianni Boone got the stretch going with a jumper before five points from Jasmine Felton and two from Olivia Tucker. By the end of the frame, Campbell had taken a 37-22 victory and stayed strong defensively to never let the Aggies back within single digits until the final moments of the game. Jasmine Nivar had a game-high 15 points alongside four rebounds and three assists for the Camels. Chaniya Clark’s 14 points were the most amongst the Aggies.
