RICHMOND, Va. – Campbell’s Dovydas Butka and Hofstra’s Preston Edmead produced standout performances in their respective teams’ two-win weeks to pick up CAA Player and Rookie of the Week honors on Monday.

Edmead picked up his seventh CAA Rookie of the Week accolade, becoming just the third CAA player in league history to capture seven or more in the same season. He is tied with William & Mary’s Omar Prewitt (7 in 2013-14) and trails only fellow Pride standout Antonie Agudio (8 in 2004-05) for the conference’s benchmark.

CAA PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Dovydas Butka, Campbell
Sophomore | Forward | Panevezys, Lithuania
Butka dazzled in a 2-0 week for the Camels, posting 21.5 points per game on 54.2% shooting from the floor (13-24 FG) and 85.0% from the line (17-20 FT). The Lithuanian product averaged a double-double last week after pulling down 10.0 rebounds, while logging 2.5 steals per contest. The sophomore forward went off for a 26-point, 10-rebound, four-steal performance in an 81-60 victory over one of the league’s top defenses, Drexel. He shot 9-of-15 from the floor and 8-for-10 at the line, while pulling down six of his 10 boards on the offensive glass. Butka’s 26 points were the second-most among the league’s top scoring outputs last week. The 6-foot-9 big man followed up with his ninth double-double of the season, posting 17 points and 10 rebounds in a 79-71 victory at North Carolina A&T.
