Tamia Watkins are the CAA women’s basketball weekly award winners for the week ending on February 8.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Grace Ezebilo, Charleston
Junior | Forward | Nigeria, Africa
Ezebilo dominated the glass, averaging 21.5 rebounds per game in Charleston’s 2-0 week. In a top-of-the-standings clash against Campbell, the junior broke a program record for most boards in the Cougars’ Division I era with 24. Ezebilo went on to score eight points and collected three steals in the 61-49 win. Then, in Charleston’s 81-61 victory over UNCW, the Nigerian native posted her fourth double-double of the year with 15 points and 19 rebounds. She also had two steals and a block as Robin Harmony’s team extended its win streak to 12 straight victories.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Watkins collected her second consecutive CAA Rookie of the Week honor in a stretch that saw her average 14.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 1.5 assists. On Friday against N.C. A&T, the first year scored 12 points on 50% shooting from the field. She also chipped in with six rebounds, a steal, and an assist. In the team’s 75-52 victory over William & Mary, Watkins recorded her third double-double of the season with a team-high 16 points alongside 10 rebounds.
