UNCW Makes It Five In A Row As CAA Men's Swimming & Diving Champions

FINAL RESULTS

HAMPTON, Va. (February 28, 2026) – UNCW took home its fifth consecutive CAA Men’s Swimming & Diving Championship on Saturday night at the Hampton Aquaplex. It was the Seahawks’ 18th conference title since 2002.

UNCW finished on top of the standings with 852 points, while Towson placed second with 789 points. Taking third with 667.5 points was Drexel, followed by William & Mary (508.5) and Monmouth (256).

Drexel junior Theo Andreopoulos was chosen as the Most Outstanding Swimmer of the Meet and Towson senior Sam Tennell was selected as the Most Outstanding Diver of the Meet. Towson’s Anthony Bruno received CAA Men’s Swimming Coach of the Year honors and tabbed as CAA Diving Coach of the Year was Towson’s Sergey Meshcherskiy.



Men’s 1650 Yard Freestyle
Christian Davidson became the first Towson swimmer since 2015 to capture the men’s 1650 free, posting a winning time of 15:08.00. Second place went to UNCW’s Wilson Tuttle in a time of 15:19.32 and Monmouth’s Izan Arroyo Lopez del Castillo earned bronze with a time of 15:22.70.

Men’s 200 Yard Backstroke
Drexel’s Theo Andreopoulos won his third event of the championship and became the Dragons’ first men’s 200 backstroke champion since 2020 with a time of 1:42.00, which qualified him for the NCAA Championship. Dragons’ teammate Petar Pavalic finished second in a time of 1:42.59 and defending champion Sean Colson of Towson was third with a time of 1:42.66.

Men’s 100 Yard Freestyle
Drexel’s Sebastian Smith took home gold in the men’s 100 freestyle for the second time in the past three years with a winning time of 42.85. Second place went to William & Mary’s Aiden Bond with a time of 43.29 and UNCW’s Hil Lindsay took third with a time of 43.83.

Men’s 200 Yard Breaststroke
Towson’s Jed Garner broke the CAA all-time and meet records in the men’s 200 breast and earned automatic qualification to the NCAA Championship with a time of 1:52.45. Defending champion William Carrico of UNCW finished second in a time of 1:53.14 and William & Mary’s Toby Herzog placed third with a time of 1:55.91.

Men’s 200 Yard Butterfly
UNCW sophomore Joseph Busic qualified for the NCAA Championship by capturing the men’s 200 fly with a winning time of 1:43.52. Placing second in a time of 1:44.24 was UNCW’s Andy Commins and taking third was Drexel’s Richard Pucek with a time of 1:48.70.

Men’s 400 Yard Freestyle Relay
Drexel broke the CAA all-time and meet records in capturing the men’s 400 free relay for the second year in a row as the team of Theo Andreopoulos, Matas Cinga, Petar Pavalic and Sebastian Smith posted a time of 2:52.00. Taking second was UNCW with a time of 2:53.91 and William & Mary finished third with a time of 2:56.45.
