CAA Champion Charleston To Face Duke In First Round of NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament

Richmond, Va. (March 15, 2026) – After earning its first-ever CAA Women’s Basketball Championship, Charleston will make its inaugural appearance in the 2026 NCAA Tournament as the 14th seed in a First Round matchup against No. 3 Duke. Tipoff from Durham, N.C., is slated for Friday.
The 2026 NCAA Tournament will be the Cougars' eighth postseason tournament appearance in Charleston's D1 era. CofC previously made the Women's Basketball Invitational on five different occasions and competed in the WNIT the last two seasons.
The Cougars pieced together a 17-0 run in the second half to lift them past Hofstra, 68-56, on Championship on Sunday afternoon. Taryn Barbot, who was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player, poured in a game-high 23 points. She was joined on the all-tournament team by Taylor Barbot, who contributed 16 points and eight assists, and Grace Ezebilo, who posted a double-double with 10 points and 16 rebounds.
