Trevor Phipps are the CAA men’s lacrosse weekly award winners for the week ending on March 22.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Witt Crawford, Drexel
Junior | Attack | Alexandria, Va. / St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes School
Crawford went back-to-back with CAA weekly recognition after lifting Drexel to a 13-11 win over Fairfield. The junior was one of three Dragons to net a hat trick in the matchup, while his three assists pushed him to a game-high six points. Crawford has scored at least three goals in five of his nine starts this season.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Dylan Cadigan, Monmouth
Junior | Goalie | Baltimore, Md. / Boys’ Latin
Cadigan had a career day in goal to earn Monmouth a 13-12 win over Hofstra. The Baltimore resident tallied a personal-best 18 saves, earning the Hawks their first win over Hofstra in program history. The performance pushed Cadigan to a CAA-best .579 save percentage, which also sits 10th nationally.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Trevor Phipps, Towson
Freshman | Midfield | Edgewater, Md. / South River H.S.
Phipps was pivotal in Towson’s 13-10 win over Stony Brook. The freshman netted his first-career hat trick, playing on the first midfield line. Phipps was clinical when the Tigers were trailing 6-2 in the second quarter, tallying his first of the game to pull his team within two goals. He also had two tallies in the final frame to help seal the come-from-behind victory.
