Katelyn Hubley garnered Pitcher and Rookie of the Week, respectively, on Monday.
Co-Player of the Week
Dahlia Palacio, Hofstra
Junior | 1B | Covina, Calif.
In a 4-1 week for the Pride, Palacio slashed .429/.556/1.000 with four of her six hits going for extra bases. Most of her production came in Hofstra's series sweep against Drexel as she went 5-for-10 at the plate with two home runs, a double, seven RBIs and five runs scored. The Covina, Calif., native opened the weekend with a 4-for-4 showing at the dish, adding a two-run blast and a two-run single to take game one, 16-0. Palacio closed the weekend with a three-run blast in the series finale to help the Pride secure its fifth straight series win over the Dragons.
Co-Player of the Week
Cassidy Relay, UNCW
Junior | OF | Colts Neck, N.J.
Relay was instrumental in UNCW’s sweep of Charleston over the weekend, logging three hits in each game and slashing .818/.818/.833 with six runs scored and an RBI. The junior outfielder opened the slate with a 3-for-3 showing at the dish with three runs scored and a stolen base. Her lone RBI of the weekend tied the game at two in the fourth. She followed up with a 3-for-4 showing in game two, crossing home plate twice in the victory. The Colts Neck, N.J., native rounded out the weekend with another three-hit outing to complete the sweep.
Pitcher of the Week
Emma Falen, Hofstra
Senior | P | Folsom, Calif.
Falen went off last week with a 3-0 record inside the circle with a 1.24 ERA, 21 strikeouts, seven hits, and three earned runs allowed. Opponents hit just .119 off of her in 17.0 innings of work. After a nine-strikeout performance in the midweek against CCSU, Falen continued to put forth a stellar effort in league play. In two wins against Drexel, Falen totaled 12 strikeouts, including nine in the series finale on Sunday, while boasting a 0.59 ERA and an opposing batting average of .098 in 12.0 frames of action.
Rookie of the Week
Katelyn Hubley, Campbell
Freshman | P | Henrico, Va.
Hubley delivered one of her top performances of the season in Campbell’s extra-inning 3-1 victory over Elon on Friday. The Henrico, Va., native tossed all 10 innings and threw 124 pitches in the complete-game victory. The freshman surrendered just one hit and one earned run while striking out eight batters in total, including three in extra innings, to pick up her 10th win of the season.
