RICHMOND, Va. – Hofstra’s Nikki Mennella and Luchianna Cardello captured Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively, while Drexel’s Lucy Dailey and William & Mary’s Nora Begley split Rookie of the Week recognition on Monday.

Offensive Player of the Week
Nikki Mennella, Hofstra
Redshirt Junior | Attacker | Smithtown, N.Y.
Mennella posted eight points on six goals and two assists, while also adding eight draw controls in a 13-10 road win over Towson on Saturday. It marked the third time this season the redshirt junior has scored six or more goals in a game and the ninth time in her career. The eight draw controls tied her season high. Mennella, who also committed just one turnover in the contest, came up big when her team needed her the most. After Towson tied the score at seven midway through the third quarter, Mennella had a personal 3-0 run to make it 10-7 and give Hofstra the lead for good.

Defensive Player of the Week
Luchianna Cardello, Hofstra
Senior | Goalkeeper | Massapequa, N.Y.
Hofstra senior Luchianna Cardello had a strong game once again for the Pride in their key 13-10 road win over Towson on Saturday. The senior netminder posted 10 saves in the contest to allow the Pride to win in a battle between two of the league’s three previously unbeaten teams in conference play. Cardello helped Hofstra to a 3-0 mark in league action after making four of her 10 stops in the fourth quarter to keep the Pride in front. Cardello reached double figures in saves for the fourth time this season and the 19th time in her career.

Co-Rookie of the Week
Lucy Dailey, Drexel
Redshirt Freshman | Goalkeeper | Jupiter, Fla.
Dailey came up clutch to help Drexel secure a 10-9 victory over Elon. She marked her third straight outing with at least nine saves, stopping nine attempts on frame to go with two ground balls on Saturday. The Jupiter, Fla., native was instrumental in preserving the Dragons’ 4-1 scoring spurt in the final 10 minutes of the game. Dailey made a massive stop with 1:35 to go and turned Drexel loose offensively, eventually seeing Teagan Quinn score the game-winner with 46 seconds to play.

Co-Rookie of the Week
Nora Begley, William & Mary
Freshman | Midfielder | Laytonsville, Md.
Begley helped guide W&M to a pair of wins against UMBC and Monmouth. She finished the week with seven points, notching five goals and two assists to go with a ground ball. The Laytonsville, Md., native dazzled on the road against conference foe Monmouth, unloading a hat trick and a pair of assists in the 13-10 victory. Begley also recorded a pair of snipes against UMBC in the team’s 12-10 victory over UMBC.
