RICHMOND, Va. (Mar. 5, 2026) – Charleston clinched the outright CAA Regular Season Title while Monmouth’s Gigi Gamble posted the highest point tally in the CAA since the 2022-23 season to headline an exciting night of women’s basketball.
Charleston 68, Stony Brook 43

Coming out of halftime with a 3-point advantage, Charleston pulled away in the third quarter to defeat Stony Brook 68-43 and claim sole possession of the CAA Regular Season Title. Both teams struggled offensively in the first half, with the pair shooting under 31% from the field and 24% from deep. Leading 27-24 through the first 20 minutes, Charleston got hot. Taryn Barbot fired five-straight points before Sophia Tougas and Grace Ezebilo helped the Cougars go up 36-25. Caitlin Frost knocked down a trey with 4:46 left in the frame to pull the Seawolves within seven, but Charleston’s scoring run wasn’t done there. A 15-2 stretch from the Cougars closed the quarter with a 53-33 lead in favor of Charleston. Barbot finished as the game’s leading scorer with 21 points. Diaka Berte posted 14 for the Seawolves.
Monmouth 83, Towson 77

Gigi Gamble stole the show with a 41-point performance to earn Monmouth an 83-77 win over Towson. Gamble’s point tally is the most in a CAA game since the 2023-23 season. Reaching 21 points after the half, the Hawks’ guard was most efficient in the fourth quarter when her team needed her most. Monmouth entered the frame down 57-54 before Gamble got going. Alexis Andrews got the Hawks within a point, 23 seconds after the restart. Gamble produced Monmouth’s next eight points to claim a 63-61 lead. Hannah Dereje pulled Towson within one possession with less than six minutes remaining, but Gamble once again extended Monmouth’s lead with one of her seven 3-pointers in the game. The three-point lead was an advantage that Towson never overcame. Gamble was efficient, scoring on 14-of-20 shooting from the floor and 6-of-7 from deep. Thalia Shepard had 20 for the Tigers.
Drexel 70, Hofstra 56

Drexel’s first-quarter dominance carried it to a 70-56 victory over Hofstra. Outscoring the Pride 24-2 in the opening 10 minutes, Hofstra was restricted to just 7.1% shooting from the field on 14 shots. The Dragons sprinted out to a 7-0 lead in the opening two and a half minutes off the back of five points from Amaris Baker. Sandra Magolico got Pride on the board before the Dragons began pouring in the points. Molly Rullo and Deja Evans kick-started a 19-0 run that carried over into the second quarter. Drexel saw its largest lead coming in the third quarter, going up by 28 before a late Hofstra resurgence that included a 6-0 run to close out the game. Laine McGurk did it all for the Dragons, collecting 15 points alongside five rebounds and four assists. Emma Von Essen’s 14 points were the Pride’s most.
Campbell 69, Hampton 51
Box Score
Campbell dominated the first half and never looked back, defeating Hampton 69-51. The Camels were efficient early on, carrying a 42-17 lead into the last 20 minutes. Up 17-8 through the first minutes, momentum stayed with Campbell. Four different players knocked down a 3-pointer in the opening five minutes of the frame, including Gianni Boone, who scored 11 points in the contest. The stretch saw Campbell up by 16, before holding the Pirates scoreless for the remaining four minutes of the half to take a 42-17 advantage into the second half. Ronny Fisher’s team led by as many as 37 points in the contest to earn its 12th victory of the campaign. Kayla Lezama (10) and Olivia Smith (11) both reached double digits for the Pirates.
N.C. A&T 55, UNCW 46

Knotted for a majority of the contest, N.C. A&T closed out the game strong to earn a 55-46 win over UNCW. With 4:34 on the clock, the Aggies found themselves with a narrow two-point advantage thanks to UNCW’s Icyss Storm knocking down a second-chance 3-pointer. After over a minute and a half of scoreless play, D’Mya Tucker found herself at the line and knocked down a free throw to extend the lead to three. Tucker scored the final six points of the game, as the Seahawks were restricted to 0-of-7 shooting to close out the contest. Tucker finished as the Aggies leader in scoring with 12 points, while Kylah Silver’s 15 tallies for UNCW were a game high.
William & Mary 70, Elon 59

William & Mary’s first-half advantage was enough to earn it a 70-59 victory over Elon. The Tribe got off to a hot start, taking a lead it never relinquished. With 22 seconds of the tip-off, Cassidy Geddes knocked down a triple. Just 18 seconds later, she was back amongst the scoring with a jumper on the fastbreak. Monet Dance added in a trey of her own, before Geddes and Tika Sallman closed out a 12-0 run in the first three and a half minutes. Outscoring the Phoenix 20-9 through the first 10 minutes, the Tribe kept the momentum to take a 15-point advantage into the second half. Sallman neared a double-double in the contest with 19 points alongside nine rebounds. LaNae' Corbett posted 13 points to lead the Phoenix.
