CAA WOMEN’S BASKETBALL RECAP – MAR. 7

RICHMOND, Va. (Mar. 7, 2026) – The final games of the CAA Women’s Basketball regular season are in the books, which means the focus now shifts to Washington, D.C. 
 
 
Hofstra 62, Northeastern 46

Despite falling behind by five through the first 10 minutes, Hofstra dominated the next two quarters to defeat Northeastern 62-46. Yirsy Queliz excelled for the Huskies early on, scoring all five of her points in the frame and earning Northeastern a 14-5 advantage. The next two quarters were all Hofstra, outscoring Northeastern 38-15. After two straight Alarice Gooden treys to start the quarter, both teams traded buckets to knot the game at 19. With four minutes remaining in the half, Chloe Sterling kick-started a 10-2 run that ultimately won Hofstra the game. Gooden knocked down her third 3-pointer of the quarter during the stretch, contributing to her Pride-leading 11 points in the contest. Hofstra never gave up its lead after the second quarter.
 
Towson 74, Drexel 58

India Johnston scored 30 points en route to a 74-58 win over Drexel. Dropping 31 points, just one month prior, the senior guard eclipsed the 30-point threshold for the second time this season to give Towson its 10th conference win of the year. Leading by one through the first 10 minutes, the Tigers stretched out their lead in the second. With 5:29 on the clock, Asya Lara Barnes knocked down a trey to give Towson a 25-20 lead. Thalia Shepard got her name on the scoresheet a minute later before Tilda Sjkovist rounded out a 7-2 stretch for Laura Harper's program. Carrying an advantage into the final 20 minutes, Johnston helped cushion the lead with 21 second-half points. Amaris Baker scored 25 points in Drexel’s final game of the regular season.
 
William & Mary 61, Hampton 60

Trailing by three points with five minutes to go, William & Mary kept composed to defeat Hampton 61-60. Both teams battled for the first 35 minutes, with Hampton holding a slight 53-50 advantage in the final five minutes. A perfect trip to the line from the Tribe’s Marley Long cut the deficit to one before Monet Dance’s trey pushed William & Mary ahead. After Kiarra McElrath’s 2-for-2 performance at the charity stripe, Erin Dickerson Davis’ team went on a 5-0 run that ultimately won the game. First came an Alexa Mikeska 3-pointer, before a Long jumper to regain a five-point advantage. The Pirates came within two points late on, but Mikeska recorded a free-throw with 10 seconds remaining to keep the game out of reach. Cassidy Geddes paced the Tribe with 22 points while McElrath’s 14 were a team-high.
 
 
Campbell 55, Stony Brook 41

Campbell clinched the No. 2 seed in the 2026 CAA Women’s Basketball Championship with a 55-41 win over Stony Brook. Highlighted by a strong defensive showing, the Camels restricted the Seawolves to just 26.9% shooting from the field and 14.3% from deep. After being outscored 16-12 in the first frame, Ronny Fisher’s team excelled in the second quarter on both sides of the floor. Gianni Boone had eight points in the frame as the Camels held Stony Brook scoreless for almost seven minutes of play to gain a two-point advantage. Campbell broke loose in the fourth quarter, scoring 21 points (the most amongst both teams during the contest), compared to the Seawolves’ 10. Boone had a well-rounded stat line with 14 points, eight rebounds, and two assists. Caitilin Frost’s 14 points paced Stony Brook.
 
 
Charleston 70, N.C. A&T 64

Charleston outscored N.C. A&T 28-13 in the earn a 70-64 come-from-behind victory. Entering the final frame, the Cougars found themselves trailing 53-42. Charleston found itself down as many as 20 in the third quarter, but got going with a 7-0 run to close out the frame. Entering the final 10 minutes, Taryn Barbot’s trip to the line got Robin Harmony’s team going, before a trey from Sophia Tougas cut the deficit to six. Anilys Rolon scored five-straight points to level the score and put the Cougars within one, before Taylor Barbot claimed the lead with an and-one layup with 6:05 to go. Barbot combined with her sister Taryn, to reclaim the lead after two Aggies free throws before Jami Hill’s trey put the game out of reach. Taylor Barbot finished with 18 points and eight assists. Crystal Hardy paced the Aggies with 11 points.
 
 
Elon 66, UNCW 54

Quinzia Fulmore was clutch when her team needed her, earning Elon a 66-54 win over UNCW. The grad student got hot early, scoring six of the Phoenix's opening eight points and propelling them to an early advantage. Elon went up by as many as 14 in the second quarter before UNCW stormed back. When Kylah Silver saw her 3-pointer fall at the top of the fourth quarter, it was to pull the Seahawks back 49-48. Then, Fulmore took over. She drilled three straight layups in a minute and a half to push her team ahead by seven. She went on to score two more points to closeout the contest with a game-high 28 points.  Silve finished with 18 for the Seahawks.
