CAA BASEBALL WEEKLY REPORT - APRIL 20
RICHMOND, Va. (April 20, 2026) – Charleston graduate catcher Dylan Johnson earned CAA baseball Player of the Week honors, while UNCW junior Cooper Allen and Stony Brook senior Micah Worley shared CAA Pitcher of the Week honors. Northeastern freshman infielder Tyler Harmony was chosen as the CAA Rookie of the Week.
CAA Baseball Player of the Week
Dylan Johnson, Charleston – Gr., C – Lexington, S.C.
Johnson batted .375 with a double, homer and seven RBI’s in Charleston’s 3-1 week. The catcher hit .500 (6-12) scored five times and drove in seven in a CAA series win at William & Mary, including going 3-for-5 with three RBI’s in Friday’s 16-10 win before homering and driving in three on Saturday. He went 2-for-3 with an RBI in Sunday’s 4-0 victory. Johnson also threw out 5-of-9 attempted base stealers.
CAA Baseball Co-Pitcher of the Week
Cooper Allen, UNCW – Jr., RHP – Wake Forest, N.C.
Allen threw his first career shutout in a 12-0 win over Hofstra, holding the Pride to four hits over 8.0 innings while striking out a career-high 11 with no walks. The right-hander, who moved to 6-2 with a 1.77 ERA, only allowed one runner to reach second base and fanned at least one in each inning.
CAA Baseball Co-Pitcher of the Week
Micah Worley, Stony Brook – Sr., LHP – Kirkwood, Mo.
Worley limited Monmouth to four hits over 8.0 shutout innings while striking out 10 in a 3-1 victory. The lefty gave up just one extra-base hit and didn’t let a runner get past second base. Worley (5-3), who retired the side in order four times, has thrown 15.2 consecutive scoreless innings with 23 K’s.
CAA Baseball Rookie of the Week
Tyler Harmony, Northeastern – Fr., IF – Fairfield, Conn.
Harmony batted .500 (9-18) with a double, his first two career homers and six RBI’s in Northeastern’s 3-1 week. The infielder had multiple hits in all four contests, starting with a 2-for-3 effort against No. 24 Boston College before batting .467 (7-15), homering twice, scoring seven runs and driving in six in a CAA series sweep of North Carolina A&T. Harmony was also perfect in 11 fielding chances at third base.

CONFERENCE NOTES
NU MOVES ON TOP IN THE NORTH
Defending CAA champ Northeastern took over the top spot in the North Division at 13-5 after sweeping a three-game series at North Carolina A&T. The Huskies have dropped just one CAA series this season. Monmouth is just percentage points behind at 15-6 after losing its series at Stony Brook.

AMPBELL KEEPS EDGE IN THE SOUTH
Campbell lost its first CAA series of the season to Elon, but maintained a 5.5-game lead atop the South Division at 17-4 with nine conference games to go.
HOFSTRA WINS SERIES AT UNCW
Hofstra recorded its first series win at UNCW since 2014 last weekend. The Pride won 10-1 on Friday behind a career-high 15 strikeouts from Carlos Martinez and then got a 9th-inning 2-run homer from CJ Griggs on Sunday to rally past the Seahawks, 6-5.
HERE COME THE COUGARS
Charleston has won eight of its last nine games and pulled into a tie for second in the South Division at 10-8 after winning 2-of-3 at William & Mary last weekend. During the recent surge, the Cougars held their opponent to five runs or fewer in seven of the contests.
STONY BROOK SUCCESS
Stony Brook has captured its past three CAA series, including taking 2-of-3 from first-place Monmouth last weekend. The Seawolves have been led by pitcher Micah Worley, who has throw 15.2 consecutive scoreless innings.
LOOKING AHEAD
UNCW hosts #9 Coastal Carolina on Tuesday night. The Chants have dropped games to CAA members Charleston and Campbell this season, both by 4-3 scores.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
The CAA has four of thre top 23 teams in the nation in stolen bases - Northeastern is 2nd (154), William & Mary is 7th (116), Campbell is 18th (99) and Stony Brook is 23rd (94).
CAMPBELL CAMELS (25-14; 17-4 CAA)
• The Camels went 2-2 last week, beating UNCG (11-8) and defeating Elon (7-1) in Saturday’s contest.
• David Rossow improved to 8-1 after giving up just one run on four hits over 7.0 innings and striking out 12 against Elon. Rossow settled in after a leadoff homer in the first, dropping his ERA to 2.48 and upping his strikeout total to 70.
• Lukas Schramm batted .533 (8-15) for the week with three doubles and three RBI’s. He was 4-for-4 in the UNCG win and went 3-for-4 in the finale vs. Elon.
• Carlos Lugo had another big week, batting .500 (8-16) with two homers, seven RBI’s and four runs scored. He leads the Camels with a .343 batting average.
CHARLESTON COUGARS (19-20; 10-8 CAA)
• The Cougars moved into a tie for 2nd in the South after winning 2-of-3 at William & Mary as part of a 3-1 week.
• Catcher Dylan Johnson batted .375 with seven RBI’s last week. He also threw out 5-of-9 runners attempting to steal and caught a pair of shutouts.
• Kaden Myers threw 6.0 shutout innings of relief in the W&M series, including allowing just two hits over five frames on Sunday to get the win.
• Conner Frail earned his first win of the year after holding USC Upstate scoreless over 6.1 innings last Tuesday.
• Alex Lyon made his 93rd career pitching appearance last Friday, moving to 2nd place on CofC’s all-time list.
ELON PHOENIX (16-23; 8-13 CAA)
• The Phoenix earned a series victory over first-place Campbell in a 2-2 week.
• Brian DuRoff batted .412 (7-17) last week with multiple hits in three of the four games. He drove in three runs in both wins over the Camels and tops EU with a .321 average and 38 RBI’s.
• Brian Strange evened his record at 3-3 after holding Campbell to one run over 6.0 innings with 6 K’s last Friday.
• Owen Winebarger picked up his team-best 4th win (4-2) at CU on Sunday, limiting the Camels to four runs over 7.2 innings with six strikeouts.
• Jared Hall was 5-for-12 in the CU series.
HOFSTRA PRIDE (13-20; 8-10 CAA)
• The Pride claimed its first series win at UNCW since 2014 in a 2-2 week.
• In Friday’s 10-1 win over UNCW, Carlos Martinez struck out a career-high 15 batters in 6.2 innings. He fanned the side three times and gave up just one run on seven singles.
• CJ Griggs smacked a game-winning 2-run homer in the 9th to lift Hofstra to a 6-5 victory on Sunday. He was also 4-for-6 with 2 RBI’s in Friday’s win.
• Tanner Sanderoff held UNCW to two hits over the final 2.1 innings and struck out four to earn the win on Sunday.
• Sam Leonard batted .455 (5-11) in three starts last week, which included a pair of multi-hit games.
MONMOUTH HAWKS (21-16; 15-6 CAA)
• The Hawks beat Penn (5-3) and won the opener over Stony Brook (8-4) as part of a busy 2-3 week.
• Simmi Whitehill was 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBI’s in the SBU win and batted .600 (6-10) in the series. He’s riding a 9-game hitting streak and has reached base in 37 straight games.
• Alec Couture held SBU to two earned runs over 7.0 innings and struck out four in Saturday’s 3-1 setback.
• Nick Lovarco belted his team-leading 7th homer vs. SBU on Saturday.
• Chris Walsh has recorded back-to-back seasons with at least 20 stolen bases.
N.C. A&T AGGIES (10-28; 3-15 CAA)
• The Aggies topped High Point (10-4) last Tuesday but were swept by Northeastern in CAA play.
• Bruce Wyche was 3-for-5 with a double in the HPU win and batted .400 (6-15) for the week. He’s hittting .336 with a team-high 31 RBI’s for the year.
• Marcus Bradshaw was 2-for-5 with two RBI’s vs. HPU and smacked a 3-run homer against Northeastern on Sunday.
• JT Taylor was 5-for-9 in the NU series with a homer, three runs scored and two RBI’s.
• Braxton Davis picked up the win vs. HPU after allowing one run in 4.0 innings of relief.
UNCW SEAHAWKS (21-18; 10-8 CAA)
• The Seahawks had a 1-3 week, tallying a 12-0 win over Hofstra on Saturday.
• Cooper Allen (6-2) fired a complete-game shutout vs. Hofstra, allowing only four hits and striking out 11. He leads the CAA with a 1.77 ERA and is 3rd with 68 strikeouts.
• Kevin Jones and Danny O’Brien both belted 3-run homers in the win over the Pride. Jones had a hit in all four games last week and is batting .313.
• Mason Hughes batted .538 (7-15) last week, with multiple hits in three games.He tops the CAA with a .386 average.
• Bromley Thornton struck out eight over 4.1 innings vs. HU on Sunday.
NORTHEASTERN HUSKIES (23-16; 13-5 CAA)
• The Huskies were edged 3-1 by #24 Boston College in the Beanpot final, but rebounded with a sweep of N.C. A&T to take over first place in the North Division.
• Harrison Feinberg stayed hot, batting .450 with two homers, four RBI’s and six SB’s. He had multiple hits in all four games to up his average to .355 with 13 HR’s.
• Robbie O’Connor threw 5.0 scoreless innings as NU beat A&T, 15-0, on Friday. He’s 6-1 with a 4.26 ERA.
• Tyler Harmony also had multiple hits in all four games last week, batting .500 with a pair of homers and six RBI’s. He’s hitting .438 in 10 games this season.
STONY BROOK SEAWOLVES (14-22; 10-11 CAA)
• The Seawolves had a 3-1 week, capped by a doubleheader sweep of Monmouth for their third straight CAA series win.
• Micah Worley held MU to four hits over 8.0 scoreless innings and struck out 10 in Saturday’s 3-1 win. He hasn’t allowed a run over his last 15.2 innings and has 23 K’s in that span.
• Nick Zampieron batted .583 (7-12), drove in four and scored five runs last week. He was 3-for-3 in the finale vs. MU to up his average to .345.
• Freshman Mike Cervoni hit .571 (8-14) with his first career homer and four RBI’s last week. He’s riding a 6-game hitting streak and is batting .371.
TOWSON TIGERS (15-22; 4-14 CAA)
• The Tigers suffered four road losses last week, falling to Maryland before a weekend sweep at Mercer.
• Frank Adamski, Jr. recorded hits in three of the four games last week, including a 2-for-5 effort with 2 RBI’s at Maryland.
• Keldrin Rodriguez was 2-for-3 and knocked in two at Maryland and scored two runs in the finale at Mercer.
• Reliever Matt Lynch held Mercer to one run on three hits over the final 5.0 innings on Friday.
• Brian Heckelman hit his team-leading 8th homer at Mercer on Sunday.
WILLIAM & MARY TRIBE (16-22; 7-11 CAA)
• The Tribe split four home games last week, beating Longwood (7-3) before a Saturday win over Charleston (7-5).
• Jamie Laskofski hit .286 with six RBI’s last week. He became first W&M player since 2012 with 2 triples vs. Longwood before hitting a grand slam in the opener vs. Charleston.
• Jack Weight earned the win vs. LU after giving up one run over 3.1 innings before tossing 2.0 scoreless frames vs. CofC. He struck out seven for the week.
• Zack Potts fired 4.0 scoreless innings in the start vs. CofC on Saturday and Tom Bourque finished with no runs over the final 3.0 frames.
