CAA Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Awards – April 27, 2026
Dylan Smith
RICHMOND, Va. – Fellow Redshirt junior attackers, Hofstra’s
Nikki Mennella and Towson’s
Hannah Lewis, share Offensive Player of the Week honors, while the Pride’s
Brighid Smith and Campbell’s
Emma Jankowiak secured Defensive Player and Rookie of the Week recognition, respectively, on Monday.
Co-Offensive Player of the Week
Nikki Mennella, Hofstra
Redshirt Junior | Attacker | Smithtown, N.Y.
Mennella put forth another standout game to her resume in the Pride's regular-season finale on Saturday. The Smithtown, N.Y., native totaled eight points on five goals and three assists, while also posting a game-high six draw controls in Hofstra's 15-2 win over William & Mary. The hat trick was Mennella's eighth this season and 29th of her career. In addition, it marks the sixth game of at least five goals this season and the 15th time in her career. The eight points moved her into second place all-time in scoring at Hofstra with 254 points, passing Brittain Altomare, who had 247 from 2012 to 2015. Mennella leads the CAA with 59 goals and 84 points this season.
Co-Offensive Player of the Week
Hannah Lewis, Towson
Redshirt Junior | Attacker | Bayville, N.J.
Lewis unloaded 10 points last week for the Tigers, including a career-high six goals in the team’s 12-11 overtime victory over Monmouth. The redshirt junior scored four of her six goals in the opening half before sniping the game-winning tally with 2:45 remaining in overtime to secure the victory. Teammate Emma Baker was also instrumental to Lewis’ success as four of her 17 draw controls, which set a CAA record for most in a conference game, led to a goal. Lewis finished the regular season scoring at least one goal in each contest.
Defensive Player of the Week
Brighid Smith, Hofstra
Sophomore | Defender | Wantagh, N.Y.
Smith had one of the best games of her career in the Pride’s 15-2 victory over William & Mary. The sophomore defender was instrumental in Hofstra’s ability to surrender just two strikes across 60 minutes of action, totaling a career-high six ground balls and four caused turnovers in the win. Smith helped the Pride to a 16-13 advantage in ground balls and a 10-7 advantage in caused turnovers.
Rookie of the Week
Emma Jankowiak, Campbell
Freshman | Attacker | Bel Air, Md.
Jankowiak finished her season with the best performance of her rookie campaign. She recorded six points, with two goals and four assists in CU's win over Drexel. She assisted Campbell's first goal of the game, and her other three assists either helped the Camels tie or take the lead at various points in the game. Her first goal tied the game at 5-5 in the second quarter, and she scored Campbell's final goal of the day to go up by three with just over three minutes to play.
