CAA BASEBALL WEEKLY REPORT - MAY 11
RICHMOND, Va. (May 11, 2026) – Campbell sophomore utility player Jett Music was chosen as the CAA baseball Player of the Week, while Northeastern senior Luc Rising and Charleston graduate student Kurt Rogers shared CAA Pitcher of the Week honors. UNCW freshman pitcher Trey Williford was selected as the CAA Rookie of the Week.
CAA Baseball Player of the Week
Jett Music, Campbell – So., UTIL – Clayton, N.C.
Music had a huge week at the plate, batting .438 (7-16) with four homers, two doubles and 12 RBI’s in Campbell’s 3-1 week. The sophomore became one of eight players nationally with 3 HR’s in a game this season and drove in a career-best seven in a win over Charlotte. He was 3-for-5 with 3 RBI’s in a victory over Gardner-Webb and hit his league-leading 17
th homer vs. Bradley on Sunday.
CAA Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Luc Rising, Northeastern – Sr., RHP – Exton, Pa.
Rising held Stony Brook to three hits over 6.0 shutout innings as Northeastern rolled to a 15-0 win on Saturday. The right-hander sat down the first eight batters he faced and allowed just one runner to reach third base. Rising (5-4), who struck out five, has thrown 12 straight scoreless frames with 15 K’s over his past two starts.
CAA Baseball Co-Pitcher of the Week
Kurt Rogers, Charleston – Gr., RHP – Westminster, S.C.
Rogers limited Elon to two hits and no earned runs over a career-best 6.0 innings in Charleston’s 11-1 victory on Saturday. The right-hander retired 16 of the first 17 batters he faced and didn’t have a runner reach second base until the sixth inning. Rogers (4-3) struck out four and didn’t issue a walk in his second start for the Cougars.
CAA Baseball Rookie of the Week
Trey Williford, UNCW – Fr., LHP – Farmville, N.C.
Williford held North Carolina A&T to one earned run on four hits over 6.0 innings and tallied a career-high 11 strikeouts for the second straight start in an 18-2 win on Friday. After giving up a run in the first, the freshman lefty didn’t allow a runner past second base and retired 12 of the final 13 batters he faced. Williford moved to 7-1 with a CAA-best 1.72 ERA in league play.

CONFERENCE NOTES
NORTHEASTERN, MONMOUTH CLINCH TOURNAMENT BERTHS
Northeastern and Monmouth clinched the two automatic qualifying spots from the North Division for the CAA Baseball Championship over the weekend. The Huskies, who are the defending CAA champions, have made the tournament field every season since 2013. The Hawks will be making their first tournament appearance since joining the league in 2023.
SECOND SOUTH SPOT UP FOR GRABS
Campbell has already locked up the top spot in the South Division, but UNCW and Charleston will battle for the final automatic berth. The Seahawks (16-11) hold a one-game lead over the Cougars (15-12) heading into the final three-game league series. UNCW hosts Campbell and Charleston entertains William & Mary.
RPI TO DETERMINE FINAL TWO TOURNAMENT TEAMS
The final two spots in the CAA Baseball Championship will go to the teams not finishing first or second in their division with the highest NCAA RPI at the conclusion of the regular season. As of Monday, UNCW (117), Charleston (150), Hofstra (157) and Stony Brook (160) own the top RPI’s among teams not already qualified.

STOLEN BASE LEADERS
The CAA has four of the top 24 teams in the nation in stolen bases - Northeastern is No. 1 in Division I (191), William & Mary is 3rd (152), Campbell is 18th (121) and Stony Brook is 24th (119).
TOWSON’S TYNER RETIRES
Towson head coach Matt Tyner will retire after nine seasons at the helm of the Tigers. Tyner mentored 12 players who earned All-CAA honors during his career.
CAMPBELL CAMELS (36-15; 23-4 CAA)
• The Camels closed non-conference play with a 3-1 week that included wins over Charlotte, Gardner-Webb and Bradley.
• Jett Music hit three homers and drove in seven in a 15-7 victory at Charlotte. The 3 HR’s are tied for the 2nd-most in CU history and the 7 RBI’s match the 4th-most ever by a Camels’ player.
• David Rossow held Gardner-Webb to one earned run over 5.0 innings and fanned eight. He’s 9-1 with a 2.71 ERA and tops the CAA with 88 K’s.
• Joey Morton smacked his 16th homer and knocked in eight runs last week to up his CAA-best total to 63.
• Jonah Oster batted .400 last week with three multi-hit games.
CHARLESTON COUGARS (25-25; 15-12 CAA)
• The Cougars swept a 3-game series at Elon to pull within a game of second place in the South Division.
• Will Tippett homered in all three games at Elon and batted .556 (5-9) in the series with seven runs and six RBI’s. He’s now tied for the team lead with 7 HR’s.
• Kurt Rogers didn’t allow an earned run in 6.0 innings at EU on Saturday and Carson Bryant held the Phoenix to one earned run in 5.0 frames on Sunday.
• Ethan Plyler batted .474 (9-19) for the week with seven RBI’s. He’s riding a nine-game hitting streak.
• The Cougars’ pitchers posted a 2.16 ERA a 0.92 WHIP in the Elon series, holding the Phoenix to a .209 average.
ELON PHOENIX (19-31; 10-20 CAA)
• The Phoenix had an 0-4 week, including setbacks to Charleston in their final three CAA games of the season.
• Vince Fattore scored four runs in the CofC series and smacked his 6th homer on Friday, tying for the team lead.
• Brian DuRoff had five hits last week, including a pair of multi-hit games. He leads Elon in batting (.322), doubles (17) and RBI’s (44).
• Sam Nomura didn’t allow a run in 2.2 innings of work in two appearances vs. Charleston and struck out three.
• Jackson Alford is 4th in the CAA in SB’s (31) and 6th in runs (44).
HOFSTRA PRIDE (18-26; 12-15 CAA)
• The Pride dropped 2-of-3 to Monmouth last weekend, winning the opener, 7-3.
• Tyler Castrataro went 3-for-4 with a double, homer and four RBI’s in the win. He had a hit in all three games and batted .462 and drove in six in the series.
• Carlos Martinez threw his first career complete game vs. MU, allowing seven hits and three runs over 9.0 innings. He struck out 10 to up his season total to 75, which ranks 5th in the CAA.
• Nick Biddle batted .500 (6-12) and scored five times against MU. He’s on a 10-game hitting streak.
• Hofstra pitchers struck out 32 in the Monmouth series, with Tanner Sanderoff fanning 11 over two outings.
MONMOUTH HAWKS (27-20, 18-9 CAA)
• The Hawks won 2-of-3 at Hofstra to clinch a berth in the CAA Tournament for the first time.
• Aidan Bretschneider batted .600 (3-5) in the Hofstra series with two doubles, a homer, three runs and seven RBI’s.
• Alec Couture (5-3) held HU to two runs over 7.0 innings and struck out seven to even the series on Friday.
• Colin Richter was 4-for-4 with a homer and 3 RBI’s and RJ Mustaro drove in four in Sunday’s 18-10 win over the Pride.
• MU recorded 15 road wins this season, its most in a season since 2019.
N.C. A&T AGGIES (13-36; 4-23 CAA)
• The Aggies defeated UNCW, 7-2, in the finale of their three-game series.
• Angel Ortiz limited the Seahawks to four hits and no earned runs over 6.1 innings on Sunday to earn his first win of the season.
• Nick DeCarlo batted .385 (5-13) in the series with three doubles and three RBI’s. He’s htting .320 for the year.
• Bruce Wyche went 5-for-10 in the final two games vs. UNCW with three doubles. He leads the Aggies in batting (.333) and RBI’s (35).
• Diego Barrett threw 3.0 scoreless innings of relief in two appearances vs. UNCW last weekend.
UNCW SEAHAWKS (28-22; 16-11 CAA)
• The Seahawks split four games last week, including a series win at N.C. A&T.
• Trey Williford (7-1) struck out 11 for the second straight start at A&T. He allowed just one earned run over 6.0 innings and lowered his ERA to 1.72 in CAA play.
• JP Pennella batted .545 (6-11) in the A&T series, including a 3-for-3 outing on Friday to raise his average to .371.
• Danny O’Brien delivered a 2-run homer on Friday and a 3-run homer on Saturday at A&T. He has 5 HR’s in 49 at-bats.
• Trevor Lucas drove in five runs and scored four times in the first two games of the A&T series.
NORTHEASTERN HUSKIES (31-18; 20-7 CAA)
• The Huskies swept a 3-game series from Stony Brook to clinch a CAA Tournament berth and up their lead atop the North.
• Harrison Feinberg batted .636 (7-11) in the SBU series with a homer, six RBI’s and seven runs scored. He’s hitting .349 with a team-high 15 HR’s and 60 RBI’s.
• Luc Rising fired 6.0 shutout innings for the second straight start. He’s recorded 24 strikeouts in last 17.2 frames.
• Cooper Maher gave up just one hit over 5.0 scoreless innings of relief on Sunday vs. SBU to up his record to 5-1.
• Matt Brinker went 6-for-9 and drove in seven in the first two games vs. SBU.
STONY BROOK SEAWOLVES (20-28; 12-15 CAA)
• The Seawolves picked up a 7-4 win at St. John’s but were swept in their CAA series at Northeastern last week.
• Nick Zampieron hit .438 (7-16) with three multi-hit games last week and drove in five. He’s batting .361.
• Chanz Doughty batted .412 (7-17) last week. He had three multi-hit outings and is on a 9-game hitting streak.
• Nicholas Rizzo threw 3.2 shutout innings with 7 K’s to get the win at SJU and fanned four in 3.1 frames at NU.
• James Schaffer had a hit in all three games at SJU and batted .444 for the series.
TOWSON TIGERS (20-30; 8-19 CAA)
• The Tigers took 2-of-3 in their CAA series at William & Mary as part of a 2-2 week.
• Brian Heckleman batted .385 last week with all five hits (2 doubles, 3 HR) going for extra bases. He went deep in each game at W&M and had six RBI’s and six runs scored for the week.
• Max D’Alessandro hit .500 (6-12) and drove in six in the W&M series.
• Joey Tuttoilmondo earned the win on Saturday at W&M after giving up just two runs over 6.0 innings with 7 K’s.
• Frank Adamski, Jr. was 3-for-4 with a homer and 4 RBI’s on Saturday at W&M.
WILLIAM & MARY TRIBE (21-28; 12-15 CAA)
• The Tribe tallied double-digit runs thee times but went 1-3 last week, including a CAA series setback vs. Towson.
• Louie Bartletti batted .429 last week with a double, homer, six RBI’s, eight runs and four stolen bases. He’s riding an 11-game hitting streak.
• Charlie Iriotakis was 3-for-5 with a homer and a career-high 6 RBI’s in Sunday’s 14-6 win vs. TU. It was the most RBI’s by a W&M player since 2024.
• Noah Hertzler didn’t allow an earned run over 6.2 IP in two relief outings.
• Jamie Laskofski became the 3rd player in W&M history to reach 30 SB’s.
