CONFERENCE NOTES

TOURNAMENT FIELD SET

The field is set for the 2026 CAA Baseball Championship, which gets underway on Wednesday at UNCW’s Brooks Field. Division champs Campbell and Northeastern earned the top two seeds and a first-round bye. Monmouth and Charleston will be the #3 and #4 seeds after second-place divisional finishes. Hofstra and UNCW earned the final two spots based on their RPI ratings.

CAMPBELL SETS CAA WINS RECORD
Campbell set a CAA record for conference wins in a season with 26 after sweeping its series at UNCW last week. The 26 wins tops the previous mark of 25 set by Northeastern (25-2) last year and UNCW (25-4-1) in 2008. The Camels captured nine of their 10 CAA series, including seven three-game sweeps.

UNCW MAKES IT 40 IN A ROW
UNCW extended its streak of qualifying for the CAA Baseball Championship to 40. The Seahawks, who have captured eight conference titles, are the only team to play in every conference tournament.

CHAMPS ARE BACK
Defending champion Northeastern is back in the tournament field after a dominant performance in 2025. The Huskies went 3-0 on their way to a second CAA title a year ago, outscoring their opponents, 26-7.

LOOKING FOR SECOND TITLE
Charleston is making its 12th straight trip to the CAA Tournament, but is looking to win the championship for the first time since 2014. Hofstra is also aiming for a second CAA title, having won its first in 2022. Campbell, making its second appearance, and Monmouth, making its first CAA Tournament outing, have never won a CAA title.
