RICHMOND, Va. (May 19, 2026) – William & Mary sophomore infielder Jamie Laskofski was chosen as the 2026 CAA baseball Player of the Year and Campbell senior right-hander David Rossow was selected as the CAA Pitcher of the Year by a vote of the league’s 11 head coaches.

Other top honors went to UNCW freshman pitcher Trey Williford as CAA Rookie of the Year, Charleston graduate catcher Dylan Johnson as CAA Defensive Player of the Year and Campbell’s Chris Marx as CAA Coach of the Year.

Laskofski turned in a tremendous season offensively, ranking among the top 10 in the CAA in 11 different categories. The sophomore was third in the league with a .355 batting average and topped the conference with 65 runs scored. He was also among the CAA’s top 10 in homers (13/4th), RBI’s (45/9th), triples (6/1st), stolen bases (36/3rd), hits (72/2nd), slugging percentage (.665/3rd), on base percentage (.464/5th) and OPS (1.129/2nd). Defensively, the Tribe shortstop was fourth in the league with 126 assists. Laskofski is W&M’s third CAA Player of the Year in the past four seasons.

Rossow was dominant on the mound in 2026, posting a 9-1 record with a CAA-best 2.64 ERA. The right-hander was tied for the conference lead with 93 strikeouts in 71.2 innings and only walked 21. Opponents batted just .201 against Rossow, which was the lowest mark in the league. He allowed two earned runs or fewer in 11 of his final 12 outings and had three games with double-digit strikeouts.

Williford had an impressive rookie year on the hill, transitioning from the bullpen to UNCW’s Friday night starter as the season progressed. The left-hander was 7-1 with a 3.34 ERA and recorded 81 strikeouts in only 59.1 innings. His 12.29 strikeouts per nine innings leads the CAA and ranks 30th in the nation. In a three-start stretch against CAA foes in April and May, he allowed just three earned runs over 18.2 innings and fanned 30.

Johnson made 53 starts as Charleston’s catcher and posted an impressive .992 fielding percentage with three errors in 395 chances. He shut down opponents’ running game, throwing out 24 of 60 runners attempting to steal. The grad student also contributed offensively, batting a team- best .342 with 18 doubles, four homers and 35 RBI’s.

Marx received Coach of the Year honors after guiding Campbell to the top seed in the CAA Baseball Championship by capturing the South Division. The Camels went 26-4 in league play, breaking the conference record for CAA victories in a season, after sweeping seven of their 10 league series. Campbell, which posted a 39-15 overall mark, led the conference with 85 homers and 441 runs scored offensively and its pitching staff topped the CAA with a 4.51 ERA.

Campbell had six players selected to the All-CAA first team as Rossow was joined by infielders Joey Morton and Jonah Oster, outfielder Carlos Lugo, utility player Jett Music and relief pitcher Beau Brailey. Northeastern had four first-team honorees with outfielders Harrison Feinberg and Ryan Gerety, designated hitter Matt Brinker and reliever Andrew Wertz.

Earning first-team honors from UNCW were Williford and infielder Trevor Lucas, while Monmouth was represented by infielder Wyatt Hunt and outfielder Nick Lovarco.

Rounding out the squad were Charleston’s Johnson, William & Mary’s Laskofski and Hofstra starting pitcher Carlos Martinez.

The 2026 CAA Baseball Championship gets underway on Wednesday from Brooks Field in Wilmington, N.C.  Six teams will battle for the league title and an automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament in the double-elimination event.
