RICHMOND, Va. – The field is set for the 2026 CAA Softball Championship as Hofstra earned the North Division crown, while UNCW and Campbell split the South Division title.
The four-day competition is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, May 6, and run through Saturday, May 9. All championship contests from Hunt Softball Park in Elon, N.C., will be streamed live on FloCollege.
The Pride finished with a 29-21 overall mark and a 21-3 conference record to earn the tournament’s top seed. Led by first-year Head Coach Susan Cassidy-Lyke, Hofstra secured the most conference wins since joining the CAA and the second-most in program history. The Pride will see their first postseason action on Thursday, May 7, as they will await the winner of game one.
UNCW (31-17, 18-6) and Campbell (32-21, 18-6) went down to the wire on Friday in a winner-take-all rubber match to settle the second seed. After falling in the series opener, the Seahawks swept the doubleheader by enduring a 10-8 slugfest victory and edging out a 5-3 win to lock in the first-round bye. UNCW will await the winner of game two in the 2:30 contest on May 7.
The third-seeded Camels will take on sixth-seeded Elon (18-31, 12-12), who secured the final spot with an 8-6 extra-inning victory on Friday, to begin their postseason slate. The two teams will square off at 2:30 p.m. on May 6.
Stony Brook claimed the fourth seed in the CAA Tournament after an incredible comeback effort in their season finale against Drexel. The Seawolves were held without a hit through the first six innings before rattling off four runs in the bottom of the seventh and securing a 4-3 walk-off victory to punch their ticket to the CAA Softball Championship. Stony Brook will take on fifth-seeded Charleston in the postseason opener at noon on Wednesday. The Cougars return to the postseason slate for the second consecutive season, and first under the direction of first-year Head Coach Maggie Mrowka.
