RICHMOND, Va. (July 21, 2026) – The CAA has announced the recipients of the Team Academic Excellence Awards for the 2025-26 academic year.
The Team Academic Excellence Award recognizes the institution with the highest collective grade point average in all 22 sports sponsored by the CAA. The team GPA is a calculation of the grade point average of each student-athlete who appeared on an institution’s roster throughout the final day of their respective championship seasons during the 2025-26 academic year.
Eight different schools had at least one team earn a Team Academic Excellence Award. Hofstra led the way with six award recipients. Drexel and Elon each had four teams honored and UNCW followed with three. Campbell and Villanova had two squads recognized while Monmouth and Northeastern each had one recipient.
The Team Academic Excellence Award winner in 19 of the 22 sports recorded a team grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
