Six CAA Football Players Named To FCS Football Central Preseason All-America Team

RICHMOND, Va. (July 24, 2026) – Six CAA Football players have been named to the 2026 FCS Football Central Preseason All-America team.
CAA preseason favorite Rhode Island had four of the six selections, headlined by wide receiver
Marquis Buchanan and linebacker
Rohan Davy on the first team. They were joined on the first team by Elon junior kicker
Luke Barnes.
Earning second-team All-America recognition were URI quarterback
Devin Farrell and offensive lineman
Tre Alexander along with North Carolina A&T punt returner
Elijah Kennedy.
Buchanan led FCS with 1,337 receiving yards on 78 catches and scored a team-high eight touchdowns in 2025. Davy recorded 101 total tackles, including 13 tackles for loss and seven sacks. Barnes made 15-of-18 field goals and was a perfect 40-for-40 on extra points a year ago.
Farrell completed 267-of-410 passes for 3,745 yards and 24 touchdowns last season and ran for three scores. Alexander anchored the line for a Rams’ offense that averaged 430 yards and 31.3 points per game. Kennedy ranked second nationally in punt return average (16.3 ypr) and returned a pair of punts for touchdowns.
